Why Change your gears when all you have to do is change your tires?

Our 14" Sport packages give you an overall diameter of 23.23", and a width of 7.68". Increasing the tire size and its circumference is the same as changing the gear ratio.  Depending on what the size of the original tire was will determine how much you gain. Our package provides up to 20% increase on top-end performance with superior handling.  Other than uncompromised looks and a completely new driving feel you there are even more benefits of changing the tires over changing the gears. Firstly, Cost: When you look at the cost of a gear set being around $400 and add the fact that it requires hours of installation time by a mechanic, our 14" tire package ends up being less costly. Second, Reliability: When you use different gearing to increase speed you are spinning the axle shafts faster. When you are doing this it creates heat within the transaxle, and when you create heat you create issues. The most common is melting of the lower transaxle seals causing leaks and lower bering issues. Both can result in a costly blown transaxle.

The price includes wheel spacers, mounting, high speed balancing, and lugs.  Everything for complete bolt-on performance and handling.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

On 2000-2004 GEM cars it may be necessary to readjust the rear fender upward for tire clearance. In most cases it is not necessary however we recommend doing so anyway as it enhances the overall look of the cars appearance.

On 2005- 2007 GEM cars rear fender is almost always OK however in these years the cars come from the factory with a pronounced rearward lean. In this case raising the rear fender and simply re drilling the holes for the upper rear shock bolts 1.5” lower and repositioning the shock (therefore raising the rear of the car)  levels the car out and makes an unbelievable difference in the appearance of the vehicle. In these years GEM made the car so it turns sharper. Depending on how sharp your car is set to turn minor tire rubbing on hard turns may happen. This will not affect the tires or your car.

On 2008 GEM cars, the above applies however due to lighting and wiring within the rear fender it must be raised.  This tire set will not fit on 6 passenger and HD models as they have 5 lugs and not 4.
