1936 Harley-Davidson
Knuckle Head Tribute
Offered here for the first time ever seen anywhere - heck we just finished it today - is a project I have been working on for 2 years. I had the 1998 EVO Motor and 1998 5 speed transmission from a trade I made back in 2005 and saved it for this project. The motor and trans came out of an Ultra Classic that only had 3,400 miles on it. We tore down the motor and went through it to make sure all was right and I bought a new small case for the 5 speed as you all know the Ultra's have them huge cases. I started purchasing all new parts, wishbone frame, new tires, wheels, new springer front end, seat - well everything you see is all new parts from the ground up. What I wanted to build was a tribute to the golden age of Harley Davidson bikes - a 1936 knuckle head and I fell we carried it off as well as could be done. The pictures show the results. You can buy this kit on ebay for $18,500, my reserve is way below that, and do the paint and put it all together yourself and probably have $25,000 in it or you can buy this one ready to go. Have the look of a classic but the dependability of an EVO/5 speed set up. I did a retro 2003/1958 DUO Glide Pan Head/Twin Cam back in 2007 and it sold quick and has sold several times since. This bike is even nicer and really draws attention. I believe this bike will stand tall in any show. It is made for riding around town, bar hopping like a bobber, parades but mostly to put in the show circuit. It is dependable but not comfortable enough, at least for me, to ride cross country. Great for those short Saturday and Sunday rides to show up your friends. The only think I am not happy about is the seat set up. I may take the center shock out and lower the seat about 3 inches and put dual chrome springs under it. Whatever the buyer wants. Let me know. We did take some liberties on the foot clutch / hand shift set up as I thought this would be a little cumbersome so, we installed a hand clutch and used the foot clutch pedal for the shifter - also tied that into the hand shift - yes both work!! There a a couple of little nicks in the beautiful blue and white paint scheme - original Harley paint scheme for 1936. I will have my painter touch up what he can - remember we've been working on this bike project for 2 years so expect a couple of little nicks here and there - but nothing that detracts from the overall look.
This bike has not been titled as yet. I can provide you with the original paperwork on the frame, motor, parts, trans, paint and you can get it titled in your state using this or I can send all my paperwork to the DMV here in Kentucky and they will give me an assembled title for the bike. Either way works for me - just let me know.
Shipping will be the full responsibility of the buyer. I can hold the bike in my shop as long as necessary for you to arrange pickup as long as payment is made in full. I do require a $500 deposit to my paypal account jryoung1@roadrunner.com or you can make full payment to my paypal account. You are welcome to check out my feedback as I don't play games - 100% customer satisfaction for over 10 years of dealing on ebay.
