This is a 1982 Harley Davidson FXR. It has some mild custom work as you can see from the photo, all work was done by the previous owner. The big feature about this FXR is the motor, it is a rubber mounted EVO, not, the original Shovelhead. The frame etc., all look like a factory job, the previous owner did an outstanding job on the conversion. Looks pretty much like a factory custom 84 and up EVO motored FXR. The transmisson is a 5 speed.
During my ownership I have added the Harley Forward controls,a Corbin seat and changed the mirrors and installed an L.E.D. assembly in the cats eye tail light assembly. Mechanical upkeep has been, new front brake pads, and I rebuilt the calipers and master cylinder at the time the front brakes were replaced...points, plugs & wires.
Mechanically the only thing I am aware of that will need attention is the front head gasket, it has a very slight seep on the front side...no oil leak, just a slight seep.
The winner will also receive a new set of tires I have not gotten around to installing (the current tires still have legal tread depth), a Battery Tender, HD bike cover, and the HD Badlands seat and mid controls that were on the bike when I purchased it in 1999.
One thing I cannot tell you is the mileage. The bike had a mechanical speedo on it when I bought it that did not have a speedo cable hooked up to it. Later as I made an attempt to hook up a speedo cable to the speedo, I found that due to a lack of depth between the back of the speedo and the top of the tank, the dash could not be bolted back onto the tank with a speedo cable hooked up. I decided I would install a late model HD electronic speedo hooked up to a GPS receiver. Good idea, but the GPS receiver did not have a high enough baud rate to give the speedo the signal it needs to show true road speed. So I abandoned that idea, and just left the HD electronic speedo in the dash to fill the hole.
As far a paint goes, the paint is raised around the left filler hole, which is functional.
Make a reasonable offer if so led. Need more info on this bike, ask, I will get back to you asap.
Thanks for looking.
