Added 11-6-09: Due to all the doubt about the title being transferable, I went down today and got an Arizona title in my name. The title will be notarized and made out to the buyer when payment is made. This bike is titled as a 1946 Harley. Here you go, all you Harley enthusiasts . A 1960s chopper right out of a barn in Iowa. Talk about a time machine! A 1946 Knucklehead motor in a 1956 straight leg frame with a suicide clutch and an extended offset springer. Everything here is period and all parts are in great condition. The motor comes with a clear Iowa title, and is titled as a 1946 Knucklehead. I looked it over closely and can find no repairs on the cases and no broken or chipped fins on the barrels or the heads. The motor is not running, but 95% of the parts are there. It comes with a 74B linkert carburetor with a J-slot air cleaner. The transmission I was told, is a 1946 four speed with a ratchet top, it has been completely rebuilt and never ran. It does shift smoothly through all four gears. The frame is a 1956 straight leg frame, with the side car loops and floor board mounts still intact. Unfortunately, even though they did a nice job, the neck has been slightly raked. The front end is a 1946-47 or 48 offset springer, which was extended with model A radius rods, and a super nice job was done on the whole piece. I believe it's a 1946 with the original dog bones and the OEM front brake assembly. The rear tire is a 16" and the front tire is an 18", both are laced to an original star hub. It has an early model "embossed" Knucklehead horseshoe oil tank. I am pretty sure the pad and the seat are made by Bates. The gas tank looks to be a Wassel peanut tank. The inner and the outer primary are both original and correct for 1946. Stock OEM parts shown in pictures are: clutch shell with plates, flywheels (150 403 correct for this motor), female connecting rod, engine sprocket and the rocker rods with caps. New parts included: two .40 over pistons with wrist pins and rings, crank pin, sprocket shaft, left & right case bushings, and three tappet roller kits. I will give the new owner a notarized bill of sale to go with the open title to this motorcycle. I also have a 1946 Knucklehead FL 74 ci. engine basket case, which is not included in this auction. I might consider a package deal to the winning bidder if he or she desires. If you have been patient enough to read through this whole ad and all the "technicals" you can tell I know a bit about these machines. Let me just say this is the Real Deal, like something out of the old 'Easy Rider' movie, nostalgia oozes from its dusty nooks and crannies. It whispers to you of good times and days gone by. It even has a few of the original little bells on it to ward off any evil road demons. (Check among old bikers about this superstition) A non refundable down payment of $500.00 is required through paypal within 48 hours of auctions end. Payment will be made with a bank transfer, or I will accept cash if motorcycle is being picked up in person. ALL ITEMS SOLD AS IS. PLEASE E-MAIL ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY AUCTION.

Continue reading A: The length of the rear rods are 28". It has a ratchet top on it. I could not read the numbers on the bottom of the cases. The engine is all there except the male rod, the timing gears and the cam. I just went down... Continue reading
| Nov 06, 2009 | | | | Q: Can you, will you, get the title transfered into your name as an Arizona title? I think that may be a problem. I'm in Az and would be interested thanks, Greg A: I probably could if you bought it. I really do mot need to though, the title is signed on the selling line and left blank in the buyers name. It's what we call an open title. Thanks for looking
