This is the Blue color that is very rare and was only available the last year of production. Look closely at this pristine pampered family pet and you will see it is in outstanding condition. Many of the chrome parts have been re-chromed by Pristine Plating of San Antonio. The paint is still shiny and bright with only a few very small scratches that have been touched up. (They do not show in the photos). The bike is not new and does show some age but you have to look very closely to find any flaws. It is a 42 year old bike that is still ridden around the neighborhood once or twice a month. The mileage is true and accurate at 4,719.
I bought this bike from the original owner who purchased it new in 1968 and had it in storage for the past 30 years. I gave it a lot of love and cleaning and rubbing, I took it apart and cleaned and polished everything. It has new clutch plates (the old were stuck together) had the tank professionally repainted the original blue. The inside of the tank was creamed by the local dealer and during the process they put two scratches in the paint...(very small and they are retouched but you can still see the flaws.) I was not happy with them by the way....It starts and runs and sounds like a new bike now. You should see the thumbs up I got this week when I showed the bike at the Luckenbach Texas Show and Rally. I think I might have won peoples choice but some guy bought a CB72 that is a 5 out of 5 totally redone like new. I didn't stand a chance. But still, I would rather have my original rider any day. Something about the character of one of these old scramblers I can't explain, but when I get on the bike and ride it down my street I am transported to 1968 again, my senior year of High School, no cares in the world and I am 18 again...I can't stop smiling.
Take a close look at the photos, check out my feedback and then bid with confidence.
I should also mention that I am the worlds worst carburator person. I have the bike running perfectly but the left carb leaks gas when sitting for some time. I think it's probably just the float needs adjusting but I'm not messing with it again because it is all put back together, looks great, and runs great and I will let the new owner (who no doubt has more carb skills than I do) adjust it correctly.
The bike also has new tires, new battery the original tool kit and owners manual. All electrical, lights, horn etc work perfectly.
Local pickup or buyer arranged shipping only.
As stated the bike is in original pristine condition, but it is sold with no warrantees expressed or implied. The bike is sold as is, check the photos closely, ask questions and bid accordingly.
I have the bike for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally.
I was forced to relist my bike because a new ebayer changed his mind after bidding. Please look the bike over, ask questions if you must before bidding but don't bid unless you plan on buying the bike. If you have less than five feedbacks or a history of negative feedbacks please email me before bidding. If you bid and don't look sincere to me I will cancel your bid.
