1973 Jaguar E-Type
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I am relisting my 1973 Jaguar E-Type, because of nonpayment. Before you bid please have all the funds available, get permission from your wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend. Please no overseas bidding. I can tell you nothing about the car prior to October 2006, I bought this from someone who misrepresented the car, was decietful in his description, and didn't have a clear title. I have a clear title. Also, this is not a true and correct Jaguar. Outwardly the body it is a beautiful example of the E-Type, but it's engine is a carbureted Chevrolet 350 cubic inch. It is mated with what looks like GM transmission. The markings on the top left side of the transmission are 4 GM 5.7 LG SG, on the top right are the numbers 458-33-6608. When I bought the car it barely ran let alone stop, the headliner was sagging and the floor pans were rusted out with hugh holes to where I saw the road. I have put over $7000.00 into this car to get it running and presentable. Some of the things I have done are: New headliner, major tune up, installed a Rochester quadra-jet carburetor, new brakes with new master cylinder and power brake booster, new electric fuel pump, headlight repair, and new left and right floor pans welded in. The car doen't overheat, even sitting in traffic durning the summer heat in Texas. I also have an owners handbook. Some of the things that I wanted to accomplish are new shocks (I have nos shocks), new upper and lower ball joints (I have those too), and I wanted to put a new exhaust system on it, although the system now is fine. The air conditioner runs but blows cool air, not cold and perhaps it only needs coolant. When opening the hatchback it "catches" so I think it needs to be adjusted. The clock doesn't work, but all the other gauges do work. The driver side windshield wiper arm needs to be replaced. I have tried to describe the car as best as I can, I'm not a mechanic and if you have any questions I will try to answer them the best I can. I am setting the reserve lower than what I paid for the car. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck. The weekend of Oct. 17 & 18 I noticed that the speedometer wasn't working. Maybe just loose cable. This car is a blast to drive and attracts a lot of attention. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
