This is a new item that I searched all over for and ended up having to have it made so I thought others could benefit from it. The JCNA adopted a new judging guide for the Series 1 XKE in March,2003. The second item listed under most common things wrong is the felt seal that goes between the gravel shield in front of the radiator and the bonnet is either wrong or missing. The Series 2 Judging guide is out now on the JCNA web site and also list this as a commonly missing item. After going to numerous JCNA shows and looking, a lot of the cars are either missing the seal or have foam seals. The 3.8 parts book list the part on page #235 as BD.19031,a felt seal 1/4 x 5/8 x 23". The 4.2 book only list it as a felt seal with no dimensions. I measured and it is really 23.5" so this one is 24" and you trim once installed. The other dimensions are original specs.  It is black felt and has peel and stick adhesive. Included are instructions on the installation and it is very easy. All of the 6 cylinder XKE's use this seal. If you are restoring a car or have a XKE and it is missing, here is the part you need.
