1973 Jeep DJ-5C (Dispatcher Jeep) Postal/Mail edition.

 

The DJ5 was manufactured by AM General (military/government company owned by AMC at the time). 3.8L inline 6 cylinder engine, M-11 Muncie automatic transmission. Engine runs great! Transmission runs and shifts great! Newer parts include wheel bearings, tires, brakes, some wiring, rebuilt alternator, rebuilt starter, fan belt, heater hoses, distributor cap, plugs, fuel filter, carb tuning, and wires. This Jeep runs great and drives perfect. There is nothing wrong at all. The clear coat is starting to peel on the roof. The original seat and tray were replaced with a better and matching pair of seats. The doors slide and work great. The rear cargo area has a surprising amount of room. This is the same chassis and engine as the Jeep CJ-5. Right hand drive, no power steering or power brakes, but it steers and brakes very good. It is really fun to drive. The front end parts are tight. It has collector plates, a clear title, and 33,000 original miles!!!!!!

 

The clear coat on the roof is starting to peel and there is a small amount of rust on the driver floorboard (about the size of a ping pong ball). I really don’t want to sell it, but I am starting a small business.
