1963 Lincoln Continental
Up for sale is my 63 Lincoln Continental sedan. This is the car that everyone stares at no matter where you drive it.. A true classic American luxury car perfect for rolling around town with your posse and making a big scene when all 4 doors open! I currently have two Lincoln’s but my other one is a 62 Convertible and I need the money from this car to start working on finishing my convertible in time for next summer. This is a NO RESERVE auction so it will go to the highest bidder! please don’t send me offers for trades since I need the money for the other car.
Clean and current CA title in hand (tags current till Jan 2010). California Car (DSO 52 Los Angeles). 430 V8 with 69k miles and less than 500 miles on rebuilt heads and freshly rebuilt transmission (paid over $2k for everything). Starts every time, doesn’t overheat, perfect idle, shifts very smooth, it’s a Big Block so it still picks up very fast for a large car. It has a rebuilt stock two barrel carb, so it's not too bad on gas. Has dual Flomaster exhaust with a nice beefy sound. Brand new battery, starter solenoid, electronic ignition, heater hoses & belts. Car was dropped 3 inches and has 20" chrome wheels, tires still have plenty of tread left. Power steering works great. All original chrome trim and glass are in great shape! The car was painted by the previous owner and it looks nice but it’s not a concourse $10k paint job. It has a slight orange peal effect if you get close because it’s a single stage paintjob. I’m sure you can have the car buffed to even it out a little more, it has no paint chips or scratches though and looks really nice in the sun and at night. Electrical is in good shape including headlights (both high&low beam), blinkers, tail lights, brake & reverse lights, wipers, and heater and blower unit. This was an original A/C car but the previous owner removed the A/C compressor. I don’t think it should be too difficult to change it back to A/C since the blower works fine and it looks like all the A/C lines are still in the engine compartment. Interior is in good shape with new upholstery and headliner replaced less than a year ago. Car has an alarm too.
What it still needs: Rear shocks are starting to squeak so they will need to be replaced soon. The car has a stereo but it’s not installed and still needs speakers, it’s got a huge trunk to ad a custom sound system if you choose to go that route. The 2 front windows work fine from the driver side control but it needs a new passenger side window switch and the 2 rear windows need to be rewired. The previous owner told me that the rear window motors work fine because he ran power to them and they rolled but the wiring to the switches needs to be checked. I just never got around to doing it. Rear doors need new return springs because they squeak a little. Needs a new Lincoln hood ornament. As you can see from the pics the rest is just cosmetic work, maybe re-chroming some parts like the door handles and detailing the engine compartment a little more. However, I think the car can be enjoyed as is =)
The car is available for inspection by any bidder during the course of the auction, so feel free to give me a call (714)234-9674 Dave.
