About Us

Thank you for considering our vehicles online.  I'm Bob Adams, owner of Consumer Advantage, LLC.  I did not "grow up" in the car business.  Most of my professional life was as a stock broker, so I can look at the car business from a truly distinctive perspective that is notthe same old business model and attitude you may know (and despise?).  I spent over 30 years as a consumer of cars (a lot of them!).  Oh how I wish I knew then what I know now. 

Many online sellers say 
they are wholesalers.  We truly are.  To give you some insight into our operation you should know that when we acquire vehicles we do a thorough evaluation including analysis from two independent mechanics.  Of course we have done our homework before we purchase anything, including careful visual inspection and examination of the vehicle's history.  When a vehicle's history is sound and it is in excellent condition without the need for reconditioning cosmetically and/or mechanically, it will be marketed online to the public.  Those are the ones you see...the cream of the crop.

Because we are a low overhead, small wholesale operation, the vehicles that don't pass muster are sold to retail dealers.  Those large, high overhead operations already have people on the payroll that will make the vehicle look a like a million, mark it way up and put it on their retail lot.  We don't have those people, facilities or time.  Compare Consumer Advantage's pricing to the same year, make, and model with similar miles and equipment on ANY retailer's site or advertising and you'll see the difference.  It's amazing.  Had I known how this business works for all those years I was buying cars as a consumer, I would have saved a fortune!

Our stance is that if the car does not have to be "dragged around" to the bumper painter, the leather medic, the wheel repair guy and the mechanic, why not wholesale it to you?  We don't care if a similar profit comes from you or from a retailer.  Our business model makes great sense because posting online only the "ready to roll" vehicles substantially shortens the time in inventory and thus our bottom line costs.  And there is always an appetite among retail dealers for "rough" cars, so we can move those quickly too.  But we don't ask our online customers to accept them!
  

We have a small but great team.   Evan Kay is our Director of Operations.  When I need to know what stage of the process any vehicle in our inventory is in, Evan has the answer.  When you take delivery of your beautiful new vehicle, it was Evan who prepared it.  His standard as to what is necessary is simple:  He assumes the role of you, the buyer, as they approach and drive the car. 

 

Our lead buyer Gary Zuck has been a high-line wholesale vehicle buyer for many of the leading exotic-high-line retail dealerships in the Washington DC area for over twelve years.  Gary really knows cars!

 

Michelle Munoz is as sharp as they come and is our Director of Administration.  I continually saddle her with more and more responsibilities and she has always come through, often finding a much more efficient way of doing things.

 

So each of our four team members has a title and some defined responsibilities.  But as is common in such a small group, we all do some of everything!  We are blessed with extremely conscientious, capable and honest people.  Our whole team is dedicated to one end result....happy customers.  It is safe to say that we have ZERO unhappy customers.  We are more proud of that than I can express.  But I'll brag a little here:  In the automobile business, especially doing business online, that is an enormous accomplishment.  We hold firmly to the principal of customer satisfaction, no matter how much easier or profitable it might be to do otherwise.  We don't just talk about doing the right thing, we do it.

We don't have a facility that is meant for traditional buyer traffic.  So we sell at wholesale the same cars, acquired the same way, as the big franchise dealers do.  But we are about online sales, full disclosure, wholesale values and happy customers.  Life is so much easier that way!

 

A final thought as I wrap up this "About Us" section:  Over the years I have been involved in close to 2000 online car transactions for my own company and in the past for other dealers who hired me to market for them.  That vast experience has taught me a great deal about what makes buyers comfortable and what does not.  It has taught me to be very effective and successful at selling cars.  Over all those transactions I now know (for the most part!) what works and what doesn't.  That knowledge, being blessed with a great team and the confluence of many other factors for which I am very grateful have combined to allow me to take care of my family and help others do the same.  That's important.
