All XR7-specific trim is there, including the convertible top well trim, door caps, etc. The hood lip and passenger eyebrow are good cores. Driver’s eyebrow is toast. Driver’s headlight grille assembly is a good core, passenger side is cracked but there’s a replacement in the trunk.  Center piece is missing. Front bumper is a good core. Front gravel shield is useable. Rear chrome trim is pitted beyond redemption, but I would buy replacements anyway. Rear valence is badly damaged, and rear bumper is bent, but I have a good core rear bumper to go with the car.

The car runs and drives, but needs a brake job to be safe.  I wouldn’t drive it as is.  The rear brake lights and cool Cougar sequential turn indicators work too!  When was the last time you saw that on a barn find?

There is rust and lots of it and in lots of places. Maybe too much to fix economically, but you can make the call.  The rear quarters are badly rusted and even more badly repaired, inner frame rails are gone.  The doors and trunk lid are OK, but I think the hood is done.  The convertible top and mechanism to include the latch-down pieces is complete and working. The top is actually good for a driver car. The rear folding glass rear window is toast.

Basically, this is a complete and original Cougar XR7 convertible that can be used as a donor for someone converting a standard convertible.  There’s got to be someone out there doing a Mustang Mach One, Cougar or a clone that can use this engine compartment.
