"After testing a 1969 Mercury Cyclone CJ, Motor Trend Magazine raved,
the machine is so nimble in any traffic situation its in a class by
itself. . . .the power reserve on tap is in the proportion of the grand
coulee dam. for the high-performance enthusiasts there was the Cyclone CJ, powered by the mighty 428 cobra jet. "
It's no secret that the 1968 - 69 Mercury Cyclones had better aerodynamics then any other Ford product, and was used up till 1971 by Holman and Moody and the Wood Brothers.
Some interesting observations after reviewing the Marti report. This car was ordered July 11, 1968?, also "Scheduled for Build" August 26, 1968 but was not built for another 30 days? Was this do to the Ford Strike? Interesting. I believe this car is the First, if not one of the First Cyclone CJ's Ordered / Built for 1969!
