You are looking at a fully remanufactured New Process A833 18 spline 4-speed transmission assembly. Some often refer to these transmissions as “Hemi” 4-speeds as they were standard equipment behind all elephant mills. This transmission was professionally assembled in our driveline shop. With over 25 years experience, we can assure you of a quality job. We take a lot of pride when assembling our remanufactured gear boxes. This unit was built using the best components available. We start with an original cast steel main and desirable “dual pad” tail housing. Both are thoroughly inspected, cleaned, blasted and painted. An original main shaft is then fitted with “brand new” gears, synchros and bearings. That’s right…brand new 18 spline gear sets and synchro assemblies are now available! Imagine being able to smoothly shift that ol’ wedge or hemi without having to hold the shifter in gear! We have installed and used these gear sets in a variety of stock to highly modified Mopars with no issues! You can see the superior workmanship put into these gears in the detailed pictures. The new gears and synchros are complimented with new 1-2 and 3-4 shift forks. No need to worry about the wear or integrity of 40 year old brass forks, when new steel replacements are available! Our forks have wider wear pads than the original ones, thus increasing the amount of wear surface for longer life. Also, we only use original ball and detent shift covers, as they have proven to be more desirable than their scissor style replacements. All factory fasteners are blasted, rinsed and treated with a blackening solution for preservation. The counter shaft receives special attention to prevent leaks up front. A new billet steel input retainer finishes off the forward end of the unit, while a new tail bushing and dual lip seal compliments the rear. We complete the build using a new genuine Mopar reverse indicator switch. Due to the variety of rear axle ratios and tire sizes, you will have to provide your own speedometer driven gear and housing. Be sure and let us know if you are using a 4.354” or 4.805” bore bell housing…we can accommodate for either. As with all our remanufactured units, this unit is sold without exchange! No need to worry about extra expense shipping your core back.
