Up for bid is a used stock 2004 Moto Guzzi Stone with low mileage. The Stone is their basic model that year with 90 deg V-Twin, 1064 cc, 4 stroke, fuel injected, self-adjusting hydraulic valves, Marzocchi 45 mm telescopic front fork, single disc brake front and rear, chrome spoked wheels, Lafranconi chrome dual exhausts. This model comes with a speedometer only, no tachometer. This is a solid machine and road ready. The stock exhaust has a nice deep throat. This classic looking cruiser grabs attention whenever I take it out. I had the internal fuel line on the fuel pump and the low fuel sensor inside the gas tank replaced. I started this repair myself and caused the gas to seep out the cap to the outside of the tank while it was placed upside down for a couple days. The seeping gas blistered and wrinkled the beige decal stripe down the middle of the tank - see photo for detail. This is a cosmetic flaw only due to my screw up. The fuel line on the pump was replaced with an upgraded fuel line by GP Motorcycles in San Diego. They explained the original fuel line is not compatible with oxygenated gasoline that is sold in the US and thus deteriorated. While in the shop, I had the oil changed as well. This work was completed on Oct 21. The bike comes with two sets of keys, owner's manual and service record book, and a book rack/back rest that is not attached to the bike.
The bike is very clean with no flaws except for the wrinkled stripe decal around the gas cap on the gas tank. It’s been garaged all its life and has never been dropped or down. It is full stock with no add-ons or take-offs, except for the manufacturer’s book rack/back rest that I removed.
Here is the history of this machine. The original owner bought the bike new at Seacoast Sport Cycle in Derry, NH. At 1970 miles he traded the bike in for another bike. The shop is small and does not have the room to sell used bikes, so they sell their trade-ins to National Powersports in Pembroke, NH. They sell their used bikes on eBay under the name "Collectable Trader". I bought the motorcycle from them and had it shipped to San Diego by Forward Air in a fully enclosed crate. Therefore, I am technically the third owner of this vehicle, but I am really the second riding-owner of the bike. The trader acted only as a middleman broker, they took it out for one test ride.
The vehicle has a clear California title and is currently registered till March 2010. I'm selling the bike because I do not ride it as often as I'd like. I need to buy a new high-mileage car for a new job that I just landed for the 25-mile daily commute each way on the freeway.
Buyer is responsible for arranging for and paying the cost to ship the bike. I will coordinate and assist the Buyer with shipping on my end. I can also deliver the bike in my full-size pickup truck within 100 miles of San Diego if we agree on the delivery terms.
Buyer is responsible for contacting me at end of auction to finalize the terms for completing this transaction. First phone contact needs to be reasonably soon after auction's end. I will only accept a cashier’s check drawn on US funds. I will not accept PayPal for this transaction. If I deliver the bike locally we can discuss a cash payment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call. Thank you for your interest. Good luck.
