The LS-1 Motor has 8 ignition coils, one for each cylinder.  Performance Distributors has designed the 18 Volt Mini-V.I.P. to send 18 volts into each coil in order to improve your performance, power, and tuning abilities.

            Because the LS-1 has 4 coils on one bank of the motor and 4 coils on the other bank of the motor, each of which has a separate power wire(hot wire) going to the coils, two Mini-V.I.P.’s are required(Part No. 5577-102 includes two).  Each Mini-V.I.P. wires directly into the 2 respective power wires - very simple.

            Because electronic ignitions like voltage, 18 volts allows you to open up your plug gaps to .075”, burning your fuel more completely on each piston stroke.  This “fatter” spark allows you to run a richer fuel mixture, making more horsepower.

            Also, the Mini-V.I.P. prevents the commonly experienced voltage drop which occurs when you turn on your accessories.  When your voltage drops, the spark at your plugs deteriorates significantly.  The 18 volts from the Mini-V.I.P. not only cures this, but the additional spark intensity will keep your plugs cleaner, longer.

            True to its name, the Mini-V.I.P. only weighs 1 lb. and measures 3”x3”x2”.  Because the unit is encapsulated in moisture proof silicone and tested in-house, it is bulletproof-in fact, it has a two year warranty.
