Offered is a set of 12 NOS Mopar #681 544 tappet screws fitting almost all flathead Mopar engines from 1930 and newer..and many back to 1924.
My offer is NOT for tappet assemblies..but rather a set of 12 screws. Tappets have a mushroom base and can only be removed after the camshaft is removed. They also sell for hundreds of dollars a set..and often do not include the screws. Screws can be replaced with the valve removed.
Why would you need to replace a tappet screw? The dome shaped tappet screw head allows a feeler gauge to slide in while adjusting the valve clearence. High mileage engines will beat an indention into the tappet screw that makes accurate vale clearence setting impossible. That results in poor performance, shortened valve life and noisy tappets.
