1960 Nash
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Up for auction is a 1960 Nash Metropolitan made by American Motors, built in England. I recently bought this, thinking it would be really fun to have. My wife didn't share my enthusiasm, and wants the money back in our savings. To keep peace in our household, it is up for auction. Want a car that turns heads everywhere you go? Every time I drive it, people come up with questions, and to say what a cool car. I'm not a car expert by any means. I will try to describe the car to the best of my ability. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer. This would be a great project car. There is rust on the bottom of the doors and below the doors as shown in the pictures. Also there is rust on the frame under the car. The frame would need to have metal work done to it. All the window and door weather seals need replaced. After that, a fresh coat of paint, and it would be a really sharp car. It runs and drives great for a fifty year old car. It goes down the highway at 65 without the steering wheel pulling left or right. Any part of this car is readily available at metpitstop.com. Their logo is "Dedicated exclusively to the preservation of Metropolitans since 1975" The guy I bought it from said that he has spent over $2500 over the past few years on it. He installed new exhaust, all brake lines, brake cylinders, rebuilt the carb, and a bunch of other stuff. I have the receipts. He also had the interior re-done. It's not show-car condition, but the seats, headliner, carpet, and door panels all are in excellent condition. All the glass is in great shape. The windows crank up and down like they are suppose to. The heat works, as well as the turn signals, windshield wipers, horn, and choke. The radio is the old tube kind. It doesn't seem to work. The engine starts right up and sounds really good. The transmission is the "3 on the tree". It shifts smooth, and the clutch seems fine. There is one very small dent on the front drivers side fender. Other then that, no dents. Floor pans are solid. Also included are several Technical service manuals and complete parts catalogs. When I bought it, I figured I would fix the rust, paint it, and put new window and door seals in it. It's a head-turner the way it is but it would be really special with that work done. Payment: No checks of any kind. Either Paypal or cash. These are the numbers on the motor and fire wall. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
