I am new to oil fired furnaces and blast furnaces. Some generous friends who are scrappers gave me two 55 gal drums full of oil and of course, you have to be able to get the oil out. I'm on a tight budget and the oil was free! Not only did this assemble easily (yes, I used thread seal tape) but stores easily on the wall too.

Poor quality, threads were filled with paint and not cut well. The bottom 2 pieces of the 3 piece suction tube actually fell apart in the barrel after second use, now I have to fish it out. The bung piece barely went into the bunghole 2 turns, and the set screw for the suction tube is in crooked - AND the hole for the suction tube is way too big in diameter, maybe 1/8 inch too big. On a positive note the hand crank part worked fine, self priming and moved 3 to 4 gallons per minute.

The description stated that it had 1 inch inlet and 3/4 inch outlet. Actually it is all metric piping, meaning that the 1 inch inlet is outside diameter not inside. For a barrel pump it is ok, but not for other things. It also does not have a replaceable seal since it is made in china.

light weight very easy to use. I will continue to recommend it to everyone

Not durable enough to use with one hand. started leaking within five minutes. If it were durable enough to stay still and not have to use two hands to use it, it would be pretty decent. If you don't mind taking longer and and can make a mess, this will save you some money.
