Motor bikes this nice come along rarely in one’s lifetime. Combining the razor sharp handling of the highly successful Norton “Featherbed” frame with the anti-vibration technology of the Norton Commando Isolastic engine mounting system, this professionally built special delivers the best of both worlds.
Designed and assembled in Arizona by the acknowledged experts in their disciplines. This machine was built without compromise or concern for cost. It truly embodies all the great features of classic British motorcycles. Among it’s many attributes are:
· Norton 850 Commando engine with higher specification camshaft and mild cylinder head work. Electronic ignition for easy starts and great running
· Triumph pre-unit gearbox shell that incorporates the later Triumph 5 speed gear cluster (shift pattern remains 1 up, 4 down on the right side). A Triumph clutch is also installed within the Norton primary cover. Modern O-ring chain is utilized to minimize maintenance and maximize cleanliness.
· Late model Triumph front forks with a specially modified slider to accept Lockheed racing brake calipers with dual discs, stainless steel brake lines and modified master cylinder for massive stopping power.
· Widened rear swingarm that will accommodate larger tire and wheel sizes if desired. Koni rear shock absorbers for a more controlled ride and a conical rear hub for that correct period look.
· Hand formed alloy fuel tank made by the well know American metal master. All paint and surface finishes of the highest caliber. Extensive use of stainless steel and chrome plating of fasteners and cycle parts for a beautifully detailed finish that’s so easy to keep clean.
· An upper BMW fairing is fitted with a voltmeter and working clock that makes high speed cruising practical and enjoyable. There’s also an oil pressure gauge fitted to complement the speedometer and tachometer…No idiot lights here.
I’m sure to have overlooked some features, but you probably realize what it would take to build a bike like this today. It’s far easier and cost effective to purchase this bike ready to enjoy and maintain now than to recreate another.
