Item Description: This Kit will ship by USPS Priority Mail for free with insurance. Do you really need a clock in your instrumentation? Or, is knowing the operating temperature of your engine a more practical and useful piece of information when you ride? Do you really want a constant draw down draining your battery even when its parked in the garage? Or would you feel more secure knowing that your bike should start even if you haven't attended to it in 3 or 4 weeks? Here is a good alternative to that BMW quartz clock which has nothing to do with the operation of your bike and is really, just a status symbol from the 1970s!! This listing is for an aftermarket 300 degree F, oil temperature gauge and the correct sending unit for application in BMW motorcycles. The guage is 52mm, or 2 1/16" in diameter which is the correct size to fit in the dash of the R, RS and RT bikes, or any models which have the mounting hole this size in the dash and room to receive the spin on hold down ring on the back side. No bracket is needed for dash mounting because the unit has a screw on mounting ring as pictured. Much easier to install than those darn little thumb screws and brackets. They can also be adapted to the pod type instrument housings for bikes which do not have a fairing or dash. A simple flat bracket with 2 holes and a couple of self tapping screws will hold it securely in the stock BMW instrument pod. This is the same guage, just different sending unit that is used on some BMW autos, porsches and VWs. The Oil Pan used in one of the pictures is only represented to show where the sending unit will mount. The oil pan is not included in this auction!!! Most oil temperature sending units are designed to be mounted in the side of the oil pan where a hole must be drilled and tapped to fit the sender, but who wants to drill a hole in the side of their $200.00 oil pan and risk creating an annoying oil leak or cracking the pan? This sending unit will replace your regular drain plug with no modification to your oil pan needed. It is a very easy install! A simple wiring diagram is provided from the manufacturer and is easy to understand, but if you are replacing a BMW clock or volt meter, it will use the same wiring with the addition of 1 new wire which will run to the sender from the lowest ground post on the back of the guage. Please Note: These are new parts and both parts will come in a hard plastic blister package as pictured. The sending unit will not be in a separate package. You We have now included the original BMW nonreusable oil drain plug crush washer, another equivilent alternative is a 15mm Copper washer. Nylon washers like a normal oil drain plug washer on a car should not be used because they can affect the proper grounding of the sending unit.

If there is a problem or a misunderstanding, please notify us and we will try to work with you to resolve your concerns. All items returned must be in the original condition and container and we should be notified within 3 days of your receiving the item. No returned items will be accepted without prior notification and authorization by us. All credits issued will be less any and all listing, auction and other eBay fees associated with the sale, Paypal fees and all shipping charges (items which are sold with free shipping will be charged actual shipping costs or a flat $10.00 return fee unless the item is significantly not as described or DOA. Please be sure to know your correct size!! Ordering the wrong size is not a legitimate reason for a return. Look closely at the pictures and please read the description.
