I have owned this Square Four for about 6 years now. I first saw this machine on display at the Amelia Island Concours de Elegance around 9-10 years ago in Fernandina Beach. It was part of a collection of rare vehicles that were owned by Bob Snodgrass. Mr Snodgrass was the president of Brumos Racing, and president and CEO of the Brumos auto dealerships in Jacksonville, Florida. Brumos Porsche is one of the largest Porsche dealers in the US. Sadly Bob passed away in April of 2007. This bike was restored by Bob with incredible attention to detail. It runs and rides fine. It has been kept in a climate controlled garage.
I have decided to trim down my collection a bit and am offering this fine example as well as my Vincent ( Ebay item 110450645280). The milage is not correct - the odometer was reset upon completion of the restoration.
There is one shallow dent on top of the gas tank that is not visible in the pictures. It is minor but does need to be disclosed. The overall condition is very nice - please see the pictures for detail. There are no broken fins on the engine. I have a clear Florida Title for the bike.
A word please about feedback - I have had well over 400 transactions on eBay over the years and received only 1 negative comment from some bloke who did not read the description, nor see a minor scratch on a $100 stainless steel luggage rack. Since eBay has recently changed their feedback policy to only calculate the percentage based on the last 12 months history my rating is what it is, rather than what it should be. If you have any concerns at all please take the time to read the comments from folks I have bought and sold with.
Please take a look at my other bike for sale. Thanks for taking the time to look.
11/03/09 - I have received some comments from other eBayers questioning the year and the number. I must confess that I do not know very much about Ariels and bought this because I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it. I checked the title and it is titled as a 1952, but who knows what happened over the years so it could have been a typo that followed it for part of it's life. I also found a score sheet from a concours that Bob had entered and the bike was listed as 1952. So I really don't know. The bike did get 97.1 points out of 100 in this concours.
