1965 Plymouth Barracuda
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1965 Plymouth Barracuda VIN V-857-193147 Original Bill of Sale (bought 3/15/1965 in Fort Worth) Original Factory Build Sheet Original Title Original Financial Letters & Payment Book from Bank Original Ignition key Original Insurance Policy Original Owner’s Manual Endless receipts from 1965 to about 2002 Approximately 15000 miles on rebuilt original 273 V-8 (.30 over) converted to 4 bbl carb & electronic ignition(I have the original 2 bbl intake and carb in storage.) RV cam. Double roller timing chain, heavy-duty oil pump. Lightweight, small, heavy duty starter. Suspension completely redone with PST package w/ poly-graphite bushings and hardware, including 6-leaf springs, KYB gas shocks, massive torsion bars, and front sway bar. Underdash A/C with Sandin compressor 134A (needs charging). Steering box rebuilt to standard settings. Added windshield washers w/ reservoir. 4 chamber radiator, mechanical fan (have electric one, if you want it) Alternator upgraded to 120 amp, ignition wiring upgraded to handle load. All lights and switches operate, even lighter. Heater core needs replacing (I have a new one in the box). Original auto 3 speed A904 floor mount tranny, needs a new pan gasket (from non-use) and speedometer fitting internally. Also needs kick-down adjustment. Shifts, just needs someone who knows how to adjust it to kick down. Original 7 ¼ rear end. Gas tank was boiled out and 3M sealed. Sending unit was rebuilt, currently does not work, but this is a recent development. Drum brakes all the way around, drums have been replaced along with shoes, hardware and bearings. 13’’ 5x 4.5 front- 14’’ 5x4.5 rear wheels and stock rally hubcaps. A few wheel lugs are missing…I can’t find quality ones. Interior - Stock gold color. Front Seats have been redone, back is in good condition (seems it was always folded down). Headliner/Visors have been redone. Carpet is out of car, I have a complete new carpet set (also underlay) in the box (Year One). Both windshield seals replaced (yes, even the rear one!) I have an extra rear windshield. Other glass is in good shape, windows operate well. Included is new, correct color, door weatherstripping (cloth type). Most exterior chrome pieces are removed and in decent condition (even the fender chrome is in good shape) The front valance panel has been restored. Car has some bondo on the rear, I don’t know to what extent. Car was in a wreck in 1970, color was changed from the stock winter white to pale yellow at that time. I sprayed the car with gray primer to prevent rust. Car has a bit of rust-thru in the back quarter panels and in the spare tire well, but nothing that would require a complete panel replacement from what I can tell. Interior floor is in excellent condition, no rust thru at all. Car needs a solid paint job. A varied collection of original magazine ads of all types will accompany the car upon purchase, some mounted on foam core. A gently used copy of a factory service manual, also. Registered in Texas with antique plate until 2013. Auction may be ended early as I have the car listed locally. This vehicle is being sold in “as is” condition.
