IS A REAL AAR CUDA WITH FENDER TAGS AND EVERYTHING IS EITHER NEW OR
REBUILT. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED MOPARS AND NOT EVEN THE HEMI CAR INTRIGUED ME AS MUCH AS THE AAR'S. I
BOUGHT THIS CAR 9 YEARS AGO FROM A FRIEND WHO STARTED THE RESTORATION
PROCESS. ALL HE HAD ACCOMPLISHED IN 10 YEARS WAS TAKING IT ALL APART.
HE PATCHED SOME SMALL AREAS ON THE FLOOR AND TRUNK PAN. BODY: HAD NO RUST IN CRITICAL AREAS SUCH AS FIREWALL, ROOF, FRAMERAILS, DOOR PILLARS (A), ROCKER PANELS. REPLACED BOTH QUARTER PANELS, TRUNK EXTENSIONS AND TUBS. I LEFT THE FLOOR AND TRUNK AS PATCH REPAIRED BY PREVIOUS OWNER. UNDERHOOD PAINTED BODY COLOR AND UNDERNEATH EPOXY PRIMED IN BLACK. HAS ORIGINAL DECK LID BUT HOOD WAS TOO WARPED AND CRACKED TO USE SO I REPLACED IT WITH ONE FROM YEAR ONE AND IT FITS NICER THAN MOST. BUMPERS: RECHROMED AND LOOK GREAT. COLOR: ORIGINAL WAS FY1 BUT I ALREADY HAD A CHALLENGER THAT COLOR AND ALWAYS LOVED SASSY GRASS SO THAT IS WHAT I WENT WITH. THERE IS NO HOTTER COLOR FOR THESE CARS. ENGINE: ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS LONG GONE AS IN SO MANY OF THESE CARS. I DECIDED I COULD MAKE MORE POWER THAN THE FACTORY 290HP AND INSTALLED A NEW MOPAR PERFORMANCE SHORT BLOCK (360) WITH 1970 340X HEADS. MOPAR PERFORMANCE CAMSHAFT JUST TO SOUND A BIT TOUGHER. ESTIMATED HP AT LEAST 340. TRANS: 727 REBUILT WITH ALL NEW CLUTCHES AND SEALS, LIGHTWEIGHT BANDS, 3200 STALL CONVERTOR. FUEL: FACTORY RE-ISSUE 6 PACK CARBS FROM MOPAR PERFORMANCE. ORIGINAL ONES TOO WORN OUT AND INSIDE TOO MUCH CORROSION FROM SITTING EMPTY TO REBUILD. NEW FUEL PUMP AND GAS TANK ALSO ORIGINAL 6 PACK AIR CLEANER WAS MISSING AND AT THE TIME COULD NOT FIND CORRECT BASE PLATE BUT THEY ARE AVAILABLE NOW. BRAKES: FACTORY POWER DISC. NEW CALIPERS, PADS, SHOES, WHEEL CYLS, MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKE HOSES AND LINES. REAR: 8 3/4 WITH 3:55 ALL REBUILT AND QUIET. NEW BEARINGS THROUGHOUT. AXLE BEARINGS REPLACED WITH MOPAR "GREEN" BEARINGS. EXHAUST: DOES HAVE CERAMIC HEADERS AND FACTORY STYLE SIDE EXIT EXHAUST. SOUNDS VERY NICE. WHEELS: FACTORY STYLE NEW WHEELS, TRIM RINGS, CENTER CAPS. FRT 15X7 RR 15X8 TIRES: BF GOODRICH T/A RADIALS. I AM NOT AT THE CAR RIGHT NOW BUT BELIEVE I PUT ON 285/60R15 REAR AND 265/60R15 FRONT SUSPENSION: ALL NEW POLYGRAPHITE BUSHINGS, NEW BALL JOINTS, IDLER ARM, TIE ROD ENDS, SHOCKS, REAR LEAF SPRING BUSHINGS. ETC. INTERIOR: NEW HEADLINER, FLOOR CARPET, SEATS RECOVERED, NEW SHINY SILL PLATES, NEW DASH PAD FROM JUST DASHES, TUFF STEERING WHEEL THAT CAME WITH THE CAR. LOOKS TO BE CORRECT AS SOME HAD THEM ESP HEMI CARS. GAUGES: FACTORY RALLY DASH. TACH NOT WORKING ( AS USUAL) COULD BE SENT OUT TO HAVE THEM REFURBISHED I AM SURE I HAVE LEFT SOME THINGS OUT. THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES EXCELLENT AND HAS WON BEST MOPAR AT LOCAL EVENTS. MORE POWER THAN ENOUGH WITH NO DRIVEABILITY ISSUES. STARTS RIGHT UP AND IDLES VERY NICE WITH JUST A LITTLE BIT OF CAM. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THIS CAR ABOUT 1,000 MILES IN ALL THIS TIME BUT WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. THIS CAR WAS RESTORED FOR MY ENJOYMENT BUT OTHER THINGS HAVE COME UP. WHY PAY $25-30K FOR A CAR THAT IS ALL RUSTY AND NEEDS EVERYTHING INCLUDING A ROOF AND FIREWALL AND WILL COST WAY MORE THAN THIS ONE WHEN COMPLETED. Note: GAS TANK IS NEW AND NO DENTS.
