Vehicle History Report Summary for 1973 Plymouth Barracuda 340 'Cuda
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1973 'Cuda. 340 4V, slapstick auto. A/C optioned car, it will need the compressor and under hood parts of the system. I have the compressor bracket that comes with the car. Matching number core support/panels. Match number block. No numbers on the transmission and no tag on the 8 3/4 rear. Older restoration, black with very faint purple flake, I tried to show it in the pictures, but it is very hard to see. Black top, lower rear quarters were replaced prior to my getting the car. Ghost flames. I added the "pistol grip" shifter, original "T" handle was cracked but comes with the car. Standard gauge dash. Needs headliner, carpet looks good. Seats are in good shape, they are cloth black with purple inserts.(sounds terrible, but doesn't look too bad) Trunk pan has surface scale, but is very solid. When I had it on the lift I checked the floor pans, everything is solid with no rust with the exception of the front and rear corners on the driver side. 6" area around the drain plug is rusted with quarter size hole. I've owned it since '04, kept in dry storage with an occasional short drive. Motor is strong and has been built, but I have no information on it. Transmission shifts strong, no slipping or delayed shifts.
New: starter, rear brakes, axle bearings and seals. Car comes with a few extra parts, a/c bracket mentioned, remote ralley driver mirror, real wood inserts for the pistol-grip, extra set of drip rail moldings, correct stock battery cables. I'm still digging through storage getting it all out, there are a few more parts I can't remember, but I will add them to the listing once I have them out. I have the passenger exterior door trim, just don't have the clips to attach. The car looks good, not perfect by any means, but would make an excellent start point for either a modified or fully restored 'Cuda. Thanks for looking, please feel free to ask me any questions you have about the car. I have plenty of exterior shots, I will get the interior pictures up by Saturday along with a complete list of the extra parts that come with the car. Body seam in front of deck lid. Deck Lid cracks. Right rear 1/4, scratch is about 2.5" long Paint seperation at the trim line. It was touched up to prevent rust. Scoop inserts are painted satin and need touched up. Door Ding, again touch-up was made to prevent surface rust. Bumper chrome is fair, I also have the rear rubber bump stops, just not installed.
Top trim is loose at ends, missing clip insert. Best shot I could get of the flames. Velore black/purple clothe seats....... it grows on you. :o) Interior shots taken prior to the pistol grip shifter install.

Vin stamp on block.
Here are the two rust areas in the pan, small areas and the "soft" metal surrounding them are confined to 6"-7" at the most. I put the rest of the pictures in a slideshow to try and keep from running the page out too long. You can pause the show and click through the pictures one by one. I can send the fullsize pictures of any areas you may have questions about.

Here are the last of the pictures. VIN tag, dash without mat cover, pistol grip auto shifter, plus trunk and inner decklid.
It is a real BS code 'Cuda. Power steering and power front disk brakes. I have had several requests for the reserve. I won't reveal the reserve, but it is well under the sugested price of a driver quality '73 'Cuda. Mainly due to the missing a/c components and other minor flaws. I can set a buy it now of $14,800 on it if anyone wants to end the auction early. With the buy it now price I will include all the extras I have, the ones that come with the car as well as a COMEPLETE 4 switch Ralley Tach dash assembly, dashpad to firewall wire harness that is ready for restoration, a set of '71 black billboard 340 stripes, dual chrome ralley mirrors driver remote, as well as all the parts for a rear window defrost assembly minus the duct hoses. I'm also not looking to trade for any vehicles at this time. I'm not a dealer, just trying to sell off some of my vehicles that I don't have time or room for in order to get a company started. I have a '72 Pantera I will be listing as well as several 78-79 Bronco projects. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask for any details I may have left out. Jeff
