1976 Plymouth Fury Salon

Thanks for looking. Up for auction is this low miles 1976 Plymouth Fury Salon 4dr that runs and drives very well and is quite solid. It would make a nice driver and is a fantastic candidate for a Dukes of Hazzard police car clone. The car has some issues but its strengths even things out. First it has a great running 318 that starts right up, idles great, runs smooth and doesnt smoke, just as you would expect a classic engine with just under 100K to run. The 727 Auto trans shifts smooth and strong. The 15" whitewall tires are new all around and have great tread (worth $300 by themselves). The car has disc brakes on the front and the brakes work well. The interior doesnt need attention unless you wanted to replace the faded, slightly stained, but unripped carpet. The real treat is the condition of the unripped seats, door panels, door pulls, seat belts and headliner: these make it obvious the car has under 100K. The gauge cluster is also quite clean and everything works including the original AM radio. The car has very little rust, none on the quarters, frame, floor or trunk pan, a little on the front fenders, and the battery tray needs replaced. The vinyl top is in fantastic condition and is another proof that the car has low miles. The only issue with the top is shown in the photo of the back window. These cars are notorious for leaky windows, this car doesnt have that problem as it is very solid with no mildew, etc. It was obviously loved and garaged. The drivers side front fender was replaced, but it was done well. The passenger side had a fender bender at the bottom front, but otherwise the car is quite straight. The biggest issue is the gas tank, it will likely need cleaned out. The car currently will not run off the tank, probably from a stopped up sending unit. It does run just fine from a bottle, so the fuel pump is working. I have replaced Mopar fuel tanks and cleaned them and in most cases the sending unit will get stopped up with varnish but I have not pulled it out to check it. I could do that for a high bidder if thats what it takes to get your bid, so dont feel its an unmanageable problem. Its a dirty job but not impossible. To sum up this is a really solid, low miles, great running car, with a fantastic drivetrain that has the potential to be a really nice ride. Hope you see the potential as I do. I dont need to get rich. I just want to find this car a home so the starting bid is only $500. with no reserve.
Now for the boring legal stuff: I am 6 miles from interstate 81 at mile marker 128, zip 24153. A prospective bidder is welcome to come and inspect the car before they bid, email me for my number or directions. Winner will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of $500 within 24 hrs of auctions end by paypal and full payment must be recieved no later than 10 days from auctions end either by USPS Money Order or cash in person. If you dont plan on being here in person within 10 days, full payment must be recieved within TEN DAYS by USPS or Canadian Money Order by certified, insured mail (no exceptions, for example I wont take a Cashiers check) for us to still have a deal. That means if I dont have full payment in 10 days I can sell the car to somebody else and keep your $500 deposit. I expect to hear from the winner about payment and pick-up 12 hours after the auctions end either by email, PAYPAL deposit or a phone call, or we dont have a deal. This is so I know there is a REAL PERSON on the other end... this keeps me from entertaining offers from second high bidders. I will be happy to handle delivery on my end if you hire a shipping service or will gladly help you load your car. Once you make the winning bid its YOUR car, it is AS IS, no guarentees, no refunds or returns, like you would have to ask! ;) I want to run an auction, so there is NO BUY IT NOW.
