It is also one of 961 units produced in Silver Metallic High Lustre paint and one of 107 cars, as - equipped, registered in the Chrysler Registry still in existance today. Unfortunately, the Build Sheet had long since been discarded prior to restoration. I have personally owned several Road Runners with this being the finest example of a 68' 4 - Spd. Hard Top that I have ever seen. It is not a matching numbers car, ( the original Block had a hole the size of a BaseBall through it) , but is a period correct, date coded 1968 H.P. Engine, 1968 833 4 - Spd. Trans and 1968 8 3/4 Sure Grip Rear End. The Fender Tag shows that this is a Power Brake optioned car, But it also was equipped with Power steering, added somewhere along the assembly line, still not showing up on the fender tag! The engine is .60 over, heads cut .70 and port matched to the intake and exhaust manifolds and all have been de-burred and polished.Barry Grant 750cfm. Demon Carb, Forged crank rods and pistons. Compression ratio is 10 3/4 to 1. The stock 3.55 rear gear has been replaced with a 3.91 for optimum performance. Interior is by Legendary. Paint is PPG base coat / clear coat. Frame Ties were installed to keep the integrity of the doors shutting correctly as flex occurs often in 4-spd. B - Bodies, as these cars are unibody and not full frame cars. 100% improvement over stock. Before this car was restored, it needed new metal . New floors and trunk pans, Stress boxes underneath ( OR Jacking points) that stress the unibody , were removed from another 68 roadrunner and rebuilt onto this car along with complete new door sill openings installed. All rust was removed to guarantee a solid, better and stronger-than-new structure. All floor and trunk pans have been POR-15 Treated in and out for any possibility of any future rust occuring. This is the best money can buy! The undercarriage appears as Factory Stock. You would never even know it was ever touched. This is a true Road Runner restored to the highest quality with some simple additions such as, gauges ( this car was tach delete ), suspension improvements, and performance upgrades. With the exception of additional Auto Meter gauges, all outward appearance remains N. O. S. stock ! Everything is new from top to bottom, front to back. Undercarriage is completely POR - 15 treated, undercoated same as was stock, new floor pans, trunk pans, fuel tank, fuel lines, brake lines, brake hardware, all front steering parts, steering box, and even more too numerous to mention. I have receipts and a disk of complete body restoration. AM Thumb wheel Radio is intact in the dash, works, but is disconnected and a Kenwood FM/CD Player is installed in the glovebox, w/Remote. 2 6x9 speakers in the rear deck in the factory positions. Sounds Great! This car is a 1 1/2 condition Road Runner, it only lacks new door glass to be completed. The original glass in the doors have scratches and should be replaced. My Road Runner was a hit at the 2007 Mopar Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. The only 2 Hard Tops in A - 4 Silver were mine and a Hemi car and mine drew just as much attention as the other. One of the nicest Rotisseri Restored 1968 Road Runners in the Country. I`ve only seen one nicer, and thats the Hemi car I just mentioned!
