1965 Plymouth Satellite "426"
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Up for auction and sale is our 1965 Plymouth Satellite " 426 " Wedge 2 door Hardtop. This car is part of our personal collection and will make someone a super investment that you can show, drive, and have fun with and it will not break the bank. It's got Paperwork too !! I have researched this car and Galen Govier's book has this as 1 of 265 Hardtop 426 Wedge cars with an automatic transmission sold in the U.S. This is not a post car but the Satellite Hardtop, super nice body style is you like Mopars! I have the Govier Decoding sheets !!! This car is Documented with this "PAPERWORK" I have included photo's of the documentation. Please look at the photo of the "426" emblem on the hood. It is the "Original" and has not been changed! This car is equipped with the original 426 Wedge engine, the original transmission, and rear axle housing. I will include a photo of the numbers on the engine for you. It has Power Steering, Power Brakes ( factory drum, stops good ), Working Am Factory Radio, Factory Console with Front Bucket Seating. Seat Belts, Emergency Brake light, and more. A set of hubcaps are in the trunk. The period correct Crager Mags are a super nice touch and they look new. This car has been restored to show standards. The car is as nice as the photos show. Paint is a 9 on a 10 scale. Interior is a 9 on a 10 scale. This car is "RUST FREE" and very very straight. I have not found a "pin head of rust" on any body panel. It was undercoated years and years ago probably at the dealership that sold in new. I did undercoat cars at my fathers dealership in the late 60's till the mid 90's ( cost us $12.50 ) and this is that kind of undercoat but it does not conseal anything. You can see the original floors and frame under this and they are just perfect. The underside of this car is very very clean as you can see from the photos also. Chrome is mostly original and very show quailty. Glass is all nice. Bumpers look to be new or rechromed and show quailty also. Interior is show quality and needs nothing, its super nice! If you will look at the Fender Tag photo you can tell this tag is "Original" to this car! The 8 & 0 under the A & B states this car is a 426 Wedge car. The only thing different I can find is the color when original was Powder Blue with Blue interior. Maybe Richard Petty ordered this car, who the heck knows. Fender tag decode::: Line 1 ;;; B19 = Built November 19th 1964, Shipping order # 02313 ( this matches the core support in front of the radiator !! ) , BDY R42 = 2 dr. Hard Top, TRM = Premium Buckets Vinyl Blue, CC1 = Light Blue Line 2 ::: 8 0 = "426 Wedge 4 bbl 365 High Performance Engine, 5 = Automatic Floor Shift Torque Flight Transmission, 5 = Heater with Defroster, 1 = Power Brakes, 1 = AM Radio, 3 = Backup Lights Line 3 ::: 2 = Outside Left Remote Mirror Chrome, 9 = 3 Spd Windshield Wipers 12 112 is a body code or plant code of somekind, not sure what that is as per Galin's decode book. Vin number is R451163856 == R = Plymouth Belvedere V-8, 4 = Satellite, 5 = 1965, 1 = Lynch Road Assembly plant ( I am told all 426 Wedge cars that year were built at Lynch Road only!! ) 163856= 63856 car built in 65 Car has the code 320 package = Power Steering, Power Brakes, Light Package, and the Parking Brake Warning Light ( which is still under the dash )
Engine Block number is 2432230-1 ( correct 426 Wedge 64-66 ) , Date on engine as you can see from the photos is 11 3, this car was built on November 19th. This is it's "original 426" engine block and is very rare to find one of these in this condition with its matching engine block. Transmission number is 2454217-1 , Radiator 2524972, Water Pump 2468007. On the core support on the back side is stamped with 1902313 . # 02313 which matches the "Original Fender Tag" as you can see. This is correct for this car. Both fenders have little numbers stamped in them. Both rear quarter panels have factory spot welds in the top rail under the trunk lid as they are supposed to. I personally look at all the numbers on my cars, I drive my cars, I buy my own cars, and I sell my own cars. The condition of this car is like I tell you it is. A few things you could do if you wanted to. You could replace the wood steering wheel with an original one but I like it. You could touch up the blue paint on the engine but I have not because I drive it and it will just burn off again. I will include a can of the original paint for the new owner if they want to do this. As I said I have Mr. Goviers decoding paperwork to back up the car. Mopars were way ahead of many cars built in those days as far as being able to document how they were built and what equipment they were built with if they have the original fender tag as this one does! No trades please.
Check my feedback please. We have 80 + cars in our collection. Please email me for that web address to see more photos of this car. I do not live in front of my computer so please call Dennis ( Jr. ) with any questions @ 251-769-1639 from 8 am till 10 pm central time U.S. Emails with " hey how much" will not be returned,sorry. If you are serious just give me a call as this car is for sale to a person that will give it as good a home as we have. A deposit of $2000.00 made to my paypal account must be received within 24 hours and the balance within 72 hours. Method of payment is bank transfer,cashiers check, bank money order, finance company check, or other approved by me. All funds must clear my bank before the car can be picked up personally or shipped. It takes at least 7 business days for a check to clear both banks. Its just safer for both of us this way. You just cannot bring a check and pick up the car, sorry . To much crazy stuff going on these days. Shipping is up to the new owner but I can help with that. It is stored in our secure lock up and will not be moved after the sale till shipping can be arranged. All paperwork for registration and transfer of ownership will be provided when all funds clear my bank. No exceptions please. Sold as is with no warranty either expressed or implied but the numbers, fender tag, condition is like I say. I have put a " Buy-it-Now " on the auction for the person that does not want to risk losing this car to a last second bidder or someone with an auction snipe system. I do not send second chance offers. If you get one they don't own this car. I am not hard to deal with and will help in anyway I can to make this a good deal for both. Check my other auctions coming soon please! Thanks for taking the time to look at my very collectable and documented Rare "426 Wedge" Satellite Hardtop. Dennis Lasseter Jr. 251-769-1639
On Nov-09-09 at 11:31:24 PST, seller added the following information: Please Note, Please Note::: I have had a couple of questions about the rear end being a posi unit or not. I really did not know because I dont abuse my cars and I never wanted to burn the tires on this "rare" 426 Satellite. My shop floor is a slick finished concrete. I warmed the engine, held the brake and pushed the gas. It spun both rear tires, laying two black marks on the floor and was turning sideways when I let off the gas. Now we know for sure it will spin both rear tires!! Thanks so much for the nice things everyone has said about this car and keep those questions coming please.
