1933 Plymouth Streetrod Roadster
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
RARE 1933 Plymouth Roadster Street Rod SUPER LOW RESERVE! The car runs and drives smooth and straight, the motor is a 1994 GM Crate with a ¾ cam, steel crank, roller rockers ,The Tall 2-piece valve covers are pretty rare and unique giving the appearance of a hemi or big block, the bases are cast and the tops are finned aluminum. Trans does have a mild shift kit, new driveline and u-joints, the rear end is a Chevy, not quite sure what the gear ratio is but it cruises down the freeway nice. I don’t know who originally built it or when it was built. It was a west coast trade-in for another hotrod, but I was told that it started life as a 5 window coupe. (Plymouth never made a true Roadster in 33). The car has been channeled there are 3 sets of adjustment holes drilled for the seat location, I am 5'8" and the middle holes are perfect for me, the person I got the car from was about 6' tall and he used the back holes. That’s about all I know about it. SUPER LOW RESERVE !!! Questions? Call Jim 2 0 8 - 8 6 0 - 4 6 9 4 As you can see I have a 100% positive feedback rating here on Ebay and I tell it like it is, NO SUPRISES here! take a good look at the pics, what you see is what you get. The car looks great but here is a list of things that I feel need attention to make the car perfect: Has a small crack in the windshield (quoted under $100 to replace) has a couple body filler cracks (see pics) windshield frame needs re-chromed (see pics) small ding on underside of LH rocker (see pics) I have this car advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell it through my other ads. Pick-up only at my location within 30 days (Boise Idaho area) Buyer is responsible for shipping , ratrod hotrod streetrod hot rat street rod mopar 33 31 32 chrysler dodge mopar plymouth 1931 1932 1933 custom coupe Model A Duece
The body is very solid, the firewall has a skin to give it a smooth appearance and to add the decorative bead rolls, I agree, it should have been fused to the original firewall and smoothed, and yes I have ran a magnet over it and the body filler seems to be minimal or what you would expect in a 76 year old body, just a skim coat before blocking, no major filler, no rust has been discovered anywhere AT ALL and I have had the car on a lift, from the underside the only visible "add on" panels are around the rearend axle slots on each side, the body is highly modified as you can see around the door openings and where the exhaust enters the firewall area and the rear roll pan. again if this body ever had any rust issues or wrinkled metal it would have been taken care of when the car was built into a hotrod, I would estimate that it was built in the early 90s based on styling and paint scheme. door handles and windshield chrome needs re-plated the chrome axle and wishbones need to be polished the rest is good to excellent condition. the grill chrome is made of door-edge guard, looks good but could look better with an aftermarket insert. Q: You are right that Plymouth never made any roadsters in the US--but they did make what they called a 'convertible coupe'--what the Ford guys call a cabriolet, convertible top with roll up windows and suicide doors. The chrome windshield frame/folding posts is an original '33. Looks like this was built from a 33 Plymouth or Dodge convertible coupe, channeled, bobbed and converted over to a trunk (the originals were all rumble seat cars). Have fun with the auction.
