DESCRIPTION
"This is it! This is the big news of the year. This is the car that overtakes tomorrow in one giant forward stride in automotive history. This is the all new Pontiac for 1955!" That was from the sales brochure in 1955. The new '55 Pontiac was totally redesigned to rid the marquee of it's stodgy image it had become in the early '50s. It was longer, lower, wider and powered by a new. Strato Streak V-8. The Star Chief was "top of the line" and really stood out in the crowd!
Finished in the same stunning color combination that was used on the cover of sales brochures in 1955, this correct Firegold Upper with White Mist Lower exterior and beautifully matched with the Copper and Ivory full leather interior is a favorite among collectors. This particular example shows 27,000 miles and although very believable, we cannot document it. It sports its original full leather interior, headliner and door panels with newer carpets. When the car was painted, the then owner, had the foresight to not cover up the factory paint on the firewall, thus preserving the factory chalk marks. The condition of the original paint and interior lead us to believe the odometer is faithful and correct.
Powered by the 200 Horsepower 4-bbl Strato Streak V8 and backed by a Hydramatic Automatic transmission making this car a true joy to drive, either on the highway or cruising the local ice cream parlor. Features include power brakes, white wall radial tires, stainless fender skirts, newer dual exhaust, front seat belts have been installed, color keyed steering wheel and column option, original radio, heater, day/night mirror, factory Pontiac vanity mirror, spare tire, jack and tool, and original manuals that come with the car. If you would like more information on this car, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can also help arrange shipping of this vehicle to any location in the world, and have experience with international sales.
