You are now viewing an Extremely Rare and Very Sought after 1961 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. This Very Classic 1961 Bonneville Convertible is presented in the Very Era Popular Trade Wind Blue exterior and Highly Complimented with Color Keyed Two-Tone Silver with Blue Vinyl Seats and Blue carpets throughout finished off with a Dark Blue vinyl top. The Very Desirable BB Code 389 C.I. 6.4 Liter Tri-Power V8 Engine that produces 313 H.P. powers this First Generation 1961 Bonneville Convertible and a 4-Speed Dual Coupling Hydromatic Automatic Transmission transfers all power. Features found on this Bonneville Convertible are things like Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top, Speed Alert, Tri-Power Carburetion and Super Deluxe AM Push Button Radio. Also, as evident in the photos this 1961 Bonneville Convertible rides on a very fresh set of 16" Edelbrock Aluminum Alloy Wheels with Spinners that are wrapped with a very fresh set of NEXEN P235/60R/16 Steel Belted Radial Tires giving this Bonneville a great look. As you review the photos of this Classic Bonneville you will see that it is an older restoration and still carries all of its very decorative and distinctive body bright trim which distinguish the look of these early Pontiac Icon's. The exterior trim and chrome are not show quality but are very acceptable for a driver quality car of this age and rarity. The exterior paint is an older complete repaint showing to be 10 to 15 years old and does show some age and blemishes and slight bubbling in some areas as one would reasonably expect for its age. The interior is very original for the exception of newer vinyl seat coverings. The Dark Blue vinyl top is also newer showing to be less than 10 years old and the power top works up and down. As you view the engine compartment you will find a fairly stock 389. C.I. Tri-Power V8 engine that originally was born as 4bbl set up and then after, converted to a Tri-Power 3X2 bbl Configuration. Most all options are operational for the exception of the radio and the speedometer is inoperative and miles are not guaranteed to be actual. Photos of the trunk area show nicely and the original fender skirts are included. By no means is this a Show Car but is a very rare and great example of true Pontiac Bonneville History. These First Generation Bonneville's were notable for their very distinct Split Grill and also boasting the first Wide Track car pushing the wheels out and having very little fender overhang which made these full size luxury cars one of the best handling of its era. The 1961 Bonneville Convertible was also the 2nd most expensive car on Pontiacs line up only to the Custom Safari Wagon, which was $54.00 more. This 1961 Bonneville Convertible was built in the Wilmington Delaware Assembly Plant and total production for the Bonneville Convertible in 1961 was only 18,264. As many of you 1st Generation Bonneville fans already know, these Bonneville Convertibles are in very short supply and high demand and many of these cars in excellent condition command $60,000 to $80,000 and more. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual who has always desired to own one of these rare pieces of Pontiac History but cant, or wont pony up the big bucks for a show quality Bonneville and fully understands there are things that can be improved on this car, but also sees the high potential in enjoyment and great appreciation in value down the road.. These 1st Generation Pontiacs are a no brainer investment car and are better than money in the bank for future appreciation do to the fact that there are none around to be had.
