For sale is a 1989 PONTIAC FORMULA FIREBIRD. These Gen III Birds are getting hard to find, especially ones that are not butchered up. This is, for the most part bone stock, sans the KENWOOD AM/FM/DISC Player in the dash. What makes this one rare is the drivetrain set-up. 5.0L TUNE-PORT V-8, DUAL EXHAUST with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, WS6 Performance Handling Package, with P245/50/R16 GOODYEAR EAGLE T/R Tires, and the correct Formula Aluminum Wheels, Red Exterior with T-Tops and Black interior doesn't hurt either. This has most of the power options available for this year, Power Locks, Windows, Mirrors, Power Hatch with Power Pull down, Rear Defog, Tilt Steering Wheel and Air Conditioning. The body is in very good condition, appears to be straight, no dents or rust, has the usual stone chips on the hood and throughout the car, sides etc. This looks like the original paint, the front nose has the usual stress cracking in the paint, the rear spoiler as you may know were problems with these cars, they were made of some type of foam composite, the result over time is that these can bubble and crack, this one is no different, on the right side along the top of the fender there is a fairly long crack, I have a good picture of this for you to see. The drivers side T-Top has about a 3-4 inch crack, looks like these were made of some sort of Plastic or Lexan. The Engine runs Excellent, lots of power, no noise or leaks, Transmission shifts very smooth, clutch seems very good as well, rear end is still tight and smooth, goes down the road Straight, NO shimmey brakes seem good at any speed, steering wheel sits in the proper perspective with no wobble. This car is not without faults, I will and have described any and all problems to the best of my ability. The wiper control on the steering wheel has seen better days and needs to be replaced, wipers work but speed is hard to control, power antenna is stuck in the up position, the electric headlight covers always go up when lights are turned on, sometimes need help to go down, either by pushing on the light switch a few times, or "spinning" the dials under the hood. The rear struts that hold the hatch up have been replaced with new units, along with a fresh Valvoline oil & Filter change. Looks like the stock spare and jack are  intact and have never been used. Both doors open and close good with no sag.  The interior is in excellent condition, seats (these are BLACK, flash makes them look grey or purple !) are nice, carpets look good, dash pad is in perfect condition, no cracks, all gauges work and color looks good as well, this has only 94000 miles on the odometer. Glass all seems to be good without major defects. Overall a very solid car, none of the usual rust underneath that many of these cars have, needs some TLC to put her back in top condition, most of these problems are minor versus dealing with something that has been modified, beatup, repainted, defects covered up, modifications to the drivetrain etc......you get the picture, my opinion this is a stock 20 year old car that appears to have been adult owned most or all of its life. I encourage you to stop by for a look (near Milwaukee Wisconsion), or ask any questions I might not have answered. If you decide to purchase you will buy this in "as is condition" I see no reason why you could not drive this home, or I can help arrange a truck transport for you.
