1968 Pontiac Firebird
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pictured is a original 1968 Pontiac Firebird V8 Convertible that i recently purchased from a person who started to restore the car,but found out it was too much of a project for him to handle.This car was built at the Lordstown,Ohio plant the 2nd week of June 1968.This car came from the factory with a very nice color combination.The original color is solar red with parchment "white" interior and a ivory white power top.It is a bucket seat car with a column shift and automatic transmission.The engine is a 265 horse 350 code YJ and i believe it is the original engine to the car.It will not turn over by hand,but the oil is full and clean with no signs of water.As you can see in the pictures,this car will need a total restoration and has the usual rust everywhere.It will need all new sheet metal except for possibly the rear 1/4 panels which were already replaced at some point.The person i purchased this car from rough cut the floors and trunk pan out.He purchased new full length floor pans,trunk pan,fuel tank braces and rear frame rails which are included in the sale of this car.He also purchased brand new rear leaf springs from Ames Performance which are also included in this sale.The left rear frame rail and leaf spring have already been partially installed good enough so the car can be moved around.All four weight canisters "cocktail shakers" are still with the car,two have been removed and the other two are still bolted to the car.The dash pad in this car is original and has no cracks which is very rare to see.The vin tag is in very nice condition with no rust.The power top pump and lift cylinders are still there.The parts missing to this car are the rear bumper,fuel door,fuel tank,interior,hood hinges,windshield and trim.This is the way the car was when i purchased it and i was told those parts ended up missing in storage.The original am radio is still in the car.The front sub frame is rusted out and will need to be replaced.This car will require a lot of work,but it is still a Firebird V8 convertible and everything is available from the restoration companies to restore it.There is no title to this vehicle,so the winning bidder will get a bill of sale from me.There are plenty of title companies out there to obtain a title if you need one.This car is being sold for parts or restoration only with no warranty or guarantee of any kind.A non refundable deposit of $200.00 is due within 5 days after the auction ends.This vehicle must be paid for in full and picked up within 14 days after the auction ends.If the buyer needs more time to arrange for pickup,i need to be notified ahead of time.The winning bidder is responsible to pick this car up or arrange to have it picked up.Please ask any questions before bidding and do not bid unless you are serious about following through with the purchase of this car.Your bid is a legal and binding contract.There is no reserve. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
