This auction is for a 1968 Pontiac GTO 400 H.O. 360 H.P. engine. All matching numbers- engine, transmission, differential, cylinder heads, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, distributor, carburetor, etc. West coast car stored for many years. Only 53,000 original miles! April Gold with Parchment interior and Black vinyl top. Unrestored other than one repaint in the correct factory color! The paint is show condition! All original body panels with never any rust. Never hit or damaged. The front and rear window areas are like new with no rust issues. The frame and trunk are clean and solid! No rust holes ever! The interior is completely factory original including the carpet, seats, headliner, dash, seat belts, rear package shelf, etc. The engine has never been rebuilt or apart other than a new rear main seal, water pump installed, and the carburetor rebuilt. The transmission has new seals and gasket kit. These items needed to be replaced because the vehicle sat for many years garaged in California and was not driven! The engine runs smooth and strong. The car has a new dual exhaust system and brakes. The original Fastrak Redline bias ply tires have been replaced with Redline radial tires. I also changed the original shocks, front sway bar bushings and end link kits for better handling. The car drives very nice and tight with no vibrations or rattles! The air conditioning was converted to the new R-134 system a few years ago. Everything works on the car including the air conditioning and hidden headlights. The factory Rally clock even works! The options are - Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, Cordova Top, Console, Hidden Headlights, AM-FM Radio, Rear Seat Speakers, Air Conditioning, Soft-Ray Tinted Glass, Hood Tachometer, Rally Clock, Headrests, Reclining Passenger Seat, Tilt Steering Wheel, Deluxe Seat Belts, Remote Mirror, Visor Vanity Mirror, Door Edge Guards, Rally II Wheels, Rally Stripe Package, Saf-T-Track Differential. Total price of $4,862.23. Most GTO's you see today have had rust repair panels, floor pans/frames replaced, had their engines changed, been heavily modified, or a color change done. This GTO is factory stock! Vehicle has been extremely well cared for over the years. Never smoked in and the interior smells like a new car! Over 87,600 GTO's were built in 1968. Only 3,140 had the 400 H.O. 360 H.P. engine with the M40 transmission! Of these- not many were produced with factory air conditioning! This is one of the few originals left!
