For more photos (70) of the car go to www.d4wrestling.com/transam.htm or for a new video on Youtube go to: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQkU-HVl4aw I am relisting this because the reserve was not met and I have lowered the reserve slightly for this auction.
1969 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible Clone. The car for sale on ebay was cloned from 1 of only 8 convertibles produced in 1969. Here is a description from an auction in Tennesse that sold the original one of 8. Here is the website on the car: http://www.firebirdgallery.com/69talot1.htm "This is a 1969 Pontiac Trans Am convertible. This car is 1 of 8 that were made. 4 automatics and 4 standard transmissions were made. This one is a 4-speed. This is absolutely on of the rarest Pontiacs made. This car is triple white. The only one made with this color combination. It has a WS4 HO Ram Air III 335HP motor and a 4-speed. The car has a special hood made just for these cars. The car has a woodgrain steering wheel, Quadrajet 4BBL carb, chrome valve covers, free flow dual exhaust, rear spoiler, heavy duty suspension, Safe-T-Track, blue body stripes, power disc brakes, power steering, F70-14 tires, custom trim interior, front fender air vents, factory console, wood shift knob and tinted glass. The first owner of this car was a Pontiac executive who ordered it for his company car. The first registered was a gentleman in Lauze-Washington, Pennsylvania. The second owner bought it in 1991 and he was from South Carolina. He had the car restored in 1994 by a professional Pontiac specialist Scott Tieman. Over $40,000 was spent on the restoration. 2 miles have been put on it since the restoration. The last 7 years this car has been in a museum in Tennessee. We have all the paperwork with this car. This is the real deal. This car is in absolutely show condition."
This car was done in the triple white combination of white exterior, white top and white deluxe interior. Every effort was made that aside from looking at the non Ram Air engine and the data tag that you could not tell this car apart from a real 69' Trans Am.
This car underwent a complete professional rotisserie restoration and was totally sandblasted to bare metal. I own an auto body/restoration shop and all work was professionally done. Paint is flawless and the pictures don't do justice to the gloss. New parts added include:
The engine is a 1979 400 and was bored .30 over and given a higher performance cam and original Ram Air exhaust manifolds. Transmission is a M21 Muncie 4 speed. Rear end is a 10 bolt with new posi and 3:43 gears. The trunk was in excellent condition and was redone in the splatter paint and the trunk has a rare space saver tire. The rear seat is also the rare fold down type. The underneath of the car was totally redone on the rostisserie and was painted in basecoat and a matte clearcoat finish. Sorry I have no photos of the underneath and will try next week to get some on but it is immaculate. The exaust is all new stainless steel with an original type single trans-mounted muffler in front of the rear. The exterior of the car was done in basecoat/clearcoat and the stripes are embedded in the clear and you cannot feel the edges. Here are the specifics that make the car as close to a real Trans Am as possible:
The car originally was a 350 convertible and it does not have a power top or A/C. The original color was green with a green interior and black top. We do have some ram air components (look photos) and will be included in the auction. The title says 140,000 miles and only approximately 100 miles were put on it before the speedometer was replaced so only about 130 miles has been put on this car since it was restored. Please email any questions and additional photo requests. I reserve the right to end this auction early and bidders with negative or zero feedback will not be allowed to bid and bids will be removed by myself. I will also not release the reserve for this auction but I will say it is realistic. Email or call 570-966-1221 weekdays 8-5 pm for any questions or to see the car. Good luck and happy bidding!!! Please make sure you go to the website listed above to see 70 photos.
