1955 PORSCHE 356 PRE-A SPEEDSTER CONVERTIBLE NICE DRIVER

You are bidding on a super clean 1955 Pre-A Speedster. VIN: 80882. The hood is stamped with the same number as chassis. Only 930 of these cars were produced. The door panels have not been removed to check door number stampings. This is a black plate, California car that drives wonderfully. The odometer and speedometer read in kilometers, not miles. Current odo reading is 28,925 km, (17,973 miles).
It was repainted in 1986 with Guard’s Red paint and have reason to believe it has been red its entire life. A new belly pan and a freshly built engine were installed at time of restoration. It has seen very little mileage since then – estimate between 2,000 and 3,000 miles – and been garaged every day since then There are some nicks in the paint, but it shines and shows wonderfully. The seats are original, unrestored but a carpet kit was put in at time of repainting, and seat belts in the rear only were added. The engine is # KDP0810083 (KD means factory overhaul), Type 616/16 from a late ’63 SC. The engine features twin Dellorto carbs that sound magnificent as you press on the throttle. The transmission is #38830, type 741/2 from a 356B.

Due to the updated/upgraded engine and transmission, this car has more horsepower than stock, and you feel it when driving. It drives wonderfully!

New, tan top on frame in excellent condition but not installed on car, with new matching tan side curtains and tan short cover.

This is a really complete car that is wonderful to drive and show and at a much more reasonable price than others found on ebay.
