Born and raised in Southern California with loving adult owners.
She has just the right combination of colors and equipment.
Color code 6802 "Polo red"
1600cc motor 4093439
4 speed transmission
5 and 1/2 inch steel wheels
Hella 129 driving lights
Simple, beautiful and functioinal
This car has options clearly reflecting its 356 roots motoring in its purest form.
VIN# 129020330: constructed in very late '68 Car 330 was one of the first 1969 model 912s sold in the USA. 3878 912 coupes total.
The Nine-twelve and 911 require no long introduction. The shape is the most recognizable sports car on earth. Ferdinand Porsche introduced the new 901 body in Late 1963. It is the quintessential Porsche sports car which set the standard for cars today in 2009. Tracing lineage to early VWs: It began with the original aluminum 1600cc flat four boxer motor of the 1940’s used thru the 356 line. The most prized among collectors are the first and last years of the series(1965 and 1969). What makes early 912s so special is thier connection to the 356 'bath tub'. To Porsche aficionados the ’69 912 is a must have.
The perfect California pedigree both Black and gold first issue plates and recent service records. We have found No evidence of rust.
This car is a sure bet!
Over $6000 in service records, owners manual and front license plate.
Showing 06759 miles. Best we can tell 106759: that translates to roughly 2600 miles per year. She drives like a young and spirited automobile.
Few survive because of lack of rust protection. Of those remaining, many were modified and even updated in the 80’s and 90’s. A factory stoc'69 is rare sight. There is a consenus among respected collectors that an unmolested "stock" example is considerably more valuable than a modified one. The prices for the small number of remaining cars has skyrocketed in the past few years.
She is beautiful from any angle.
The car still looks exceptional especially considering her age. The paint has been refreshed many years ago. A few owner applied touchups evident upon close inspection. As expected, it does have some imperfections chips, scratches, small dings. They are hard to find and don't detract from the car's stock clean look.
The cars trim is in quite good condition with many of the rubbers replaced. there is small area on edge fender lip with paint touchup.
She sports a nice set of hella 129 driving/fog lights
She runs and drives extremely well. Idling cold at 800rpm so quietly that you cannot tell that it is actually running. She accelerates smoothly and runs cool. Her four speed gearbox is much more pleasant to drive than the five speed and still has plently of torque.
Note: gauges while driving car.
Driving the car everything comes naturally as it should. A simple turn of the key and the car comes to life. The car is surprisingly fast especially for a 912. Quick and nimble, a real joy to operate.
detail Motor number and vacuum advance distributor.
An added bonus with the 912 is simplicity, low maintenance cost and incredible gas mileage 30mpg (est.). Note: factory water shield below engine grill.
She had full service within past 3000 miles
Enter the cockpit.
Porsche's cabin is clean black leatherette with charcoal carpet.
The interior is beautiful showing only minimal wear. The front seats have been repadded and carpet redone. dash is nearly flawless.
The repadded seats give full support and comfort even on long trips. She is a pleasure to drive with the light and precise four speed transmission. None of the headaches from managing the "dog- leg" pattern 5 speed in traffic. Porsche 911(930) Turbos from 1975 to 1988 had similar 4 speed trans.
A few additions updated stereo and wooden shift knob.
Her beauty is not only skin deep. Virgin undercarriage.
door panel facia redone in correct basket weave material. original door pockets will accomapny car.
old owner applied touch ups from soft ding 2 chips/small cracks.etc. Imperfections are hard for camera to detect.
spare wheel
The new owner will probably wish to refinish or chrome the five and half inch steel wheels and will certainly need to replace the tires as they are probably over 10 years old.
Factory large Durant mirror
Only a handful of these genuine ’69 cars are still in existence. Cars of this pedigree almost never change hands especially on the open market. Most of them are in museums and private collections. She can be exhibited with pride in the survivor class in Porsche concour events, driven in ralleys or just enjoyed casually. Ready to GO!
Forget the "Lambo". This Porsche has classic style.
Bid with confidence to own with distinction.
