It means that you will be brushing small pieces of deteriorated black foam out of your hair for weeks and the darn thing is unable to be worn!
Here's the solution if you actually want to wear your helmet. Justified Defiance has been proving new old stock helmets with brand new professionally installed liners for years. We are a legitamate company that is offering a service to reline the interior of your vintage helmet like pictured above.
What is the REAL benefit in purchasing the PROFESSIONAL RELINING SERVICE?
The interior padding of your helmet will be professionally refurbished by replacing the head ring and top pad. The liners, as they were done from the factory, are sewn AND glued in at our facility. This is NOT a quick two dollar piece of foam fix like some other "Relined" helmets sold on eBay. Yes, some original liners are in good shape, but foam dries over time. (These helmets are 30+ YEARS OLD!!) As a helmet is worn, the existing liner will wear faster than it did 30 years ago and will eventually need to be replaced. If you are looking for a comfortable helmet, the relining service is the way to go!
This relining service is covered by the price in the listing and the shipping charge will cover the shipping back to you. Cost for shipping the helmet to us is the customer's responsibility. You will have to provide pictures of the interior of the helmet to verify that the helmet can be relined and ship it to our location. This service only covers the interior liner and does not cover refurbishing of the outer shell, inner liner, straps nor snaps.
