A little bit of history on the Ford Model A.
The Ford Model A was the successor to the famed Model T and was built from October 1927 through March 1932.
While the Model T was the legendary car that “put America on wheels,” by 1927 it was a very dated design and buyers had a wide variety of other good cars to choose from.
Henry Ford literally shut down production for some six months to change over to Model A production.
The new car reflected the more sophisticated design influence of Henry’s son Edsel. Edsel’s “Little Lincoln” styling included lower, wider fenders, and by 1930, a higher hood and cowl, with stainless steel for the radiator and headlight shells.
The car appeared lower through use of balloon tires on 19-inch wheels, replacing the earlier 21-inchers.
The steering ratio was changed to make steering easier and vacuum operated windshield wipers were now standard.
Model As were available in a wide range of body styles and prices, from the basic two-seat roadster at $435 to the $660 Town Sedan. There was even a formal Town Car at $1200. Only 96 of those were sold.
Despite the popularity of Chevrolet and Plymouth in the same price range, Ford sold over 1.1 million cars in 1930, almost twice as many as Chevrolet and more than 14 times as many as Plymouth.

You are bidding on the 1930 Model A pickup below.
Here we have a good example of a restored Model A that has seen road duty. This pickup truck is no trailer queen. It has seen regular drives and has held up to the task. While not mint, this truck is very presentable and gets a lot of smiles from everyone.
The truck's body is all original Henry Ford steel from top to bottom. The body is free of major rust or body rot. The truck is a nice shade of red with correctly painted black fenders and running boards. There are no major scratches or dents to the body. There are some nics and chips here and there at the door/hood edges but it does not detract from the clean look of the truck.
The original four cylinder engine fires right up with ease. It does not smoke or miss and it has plenty of power when accelerating. The original 3 speed transmission shifts through all of its gears well and the clutch is as smooth as you expect from a Model A.
The truck's 6 volt wiring was replaced when it was restored and it is good working order.
This truck handles well for a Model A. The suspension and steering feel tight. There is no "death wobble" in the front end while driving. Stopping this truck safely is aided by the addition or early for hydraulic brakes.
Although it is minimal, the interior is fairly comfortable. The stock bench seat is covered in a black cloth and is free of any major rips or tears. The stock controls are in working order: throttle, advance, horn, headlight switch, etc. The black vinyl top is in good condition.
The truck is registered with the correct year of make, yellow and black, Folsom State Prison made, California license plates.
Glass throughout the truck is in good shape and free of chips or cracks. The side windows operate well as does the pop-out windshield.
The chrome on the truck still retains much of its shine. The front bumper is straight and free of pitting. The stainless steel grill is shiny but it does have some wear to it.
The truck's wood is in good condition throughout the body.
The truck features 19 inch wire wheels at all four corners. They are wrapped in Sears All-State rubber all the way around. The tires are older and will need to be replaced before any long distance driving; however, they are currently working just fine for trips around town.
Some of the trucks other features include a Sparton horn, removable wood bed rails, removable modern truck box, step plates on the running boards, dual tail lights, radiator gravel guard, windshield wiper, and a Moto-Meter.
Overall, this is a good running and driving truck. All the hard work has already been done but it could use a new owner's TLC.
Feel free to email any questions and check out the numerous pics we have up for your viewing pleasure.
A clear California title is on hand. The truck is currently registered in California and it is free of liens or back fees.
The odometer reads 7,327 but the actual mileage is likely to be 107,327.

"Can you explain what this means:"Stopping this truck safely is aided by the addition or early for hydraulic brakes."Thanks."
Sorry this should have read ... "Stopping this truck safely is aided by the addition of early Ford hydraulic brakes." The truck has been upgraded with 1939 Ford brakes. These brakes are much safer than the stock mechanical brakes.
