Original 1969 Meyers Manx Dune Buggy This buggy is a real Manx not a clone. The body is in very nice shape for being 40 years old. Its also sporting the hard to find side skirts. The chassis is a 1969 VW and it has been blasted and painted not too long ago. The dual port Motor runs strong, im sure it was freshend sometime in its past. The automatic choke was sticking and was disconnected, but it starts fine and runs great when it warms up. It doesn't smoke or leak and it sounds great. The tranny feels nice and tight and it shifts really nice for a VW. The vintage BF Goodrich tires are like new and the aluminum wheels are very nice. The interior sports a set of 60's Mustang seats and a chrome roll bar. The lights all seem to work fine. The brakes were gone over about 3 years ago and have very few miles on them, but It will need a right rear wheel cylinder, it just started leaking. The buggy has the original blue metal flake gel coat, the hood is sun faded and will need a fresh coat of paint, the rest of the car you could freshen with a coat of clear. There are a few small rust holes in the pan. By no means is it a rot box, nor will it need new pans. You could weld the few small holes up with a mig and grind the welds and they would be fine or just leave them alone, they are really no big deal. It will need a few small electrical things like the horn button hooked up and maybe the wipers (I didn't try them) There is a hole cut in the dash on each side under the stickers, They were for a stereo. Overall its a great running buggy and a good investment, Original Manx buggys are going nowhere but up in value, they only made around 6,000 of them. GOOD LUCK!!! As far as shipping goes its easy, you can pick it up in western NY, You can arrange your own shipping, I can deliver it to you for $1.50 a loaded mile within 300 miles (with the exception of Canada sorry) or I can arrange shipping to your door. There will be a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit due within 3 business days from the end of the auction in the form of Cashiers check or money order.
