THIS AUCTION IS FOR A 1961 BENTLEY S2 LONG WHEEL BASE WHICH HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO A ROLLS ROYCE SILVER CLOUD II. THERE WERE ONLY 57 OF THESE LONG WHEEL BASE BENTLEY S2 VEHICLES BUILT AND IT COULD BE EASILY CONVERTED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BENTLEY FORM AS I HAVE ACCESS TO THE BENTELY GRILLE AND WHEEL DISKS ETC., IF THE PURCHASER PREFERS TO DO THIS. THE CAR OPERATES WELL AND STARTS FIRST TIME. THE ENGINE IS THE ORIGINAL BENTLEY V8 WHICH IS IDENTICAL TO THE ROLLS ROYCE SILVER CLOUD ENGINE APART FROM THE VALVE COVER WHICH SHOWS BENTLEY. IT OPERATES CORRECTLY WITH EXCELLENT POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY WITH NO UNUSUAL NOISES OR SHARP SHIFTS. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO MODERN DISK BRAKES WHICH ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL DRUM BRAKES. THE ORIGINAL BRAKE SYSTEM ON THESE VEHICLES WAS ONLY ADEQUATE IN THEIR DAY AND BY TODAYS STANDARDS ARE QUITE POOR. THE CHANGE TO DISK BRAKES HAS IMMEDIATE AND POSITIVE EFFECT. THE BODY WORK IS GOOD AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTO'S. THE WHEEL ARCHES ARE CLEAN AS ARE THE DOORS AND WINGS. THE BONNET AND BOOT ARE IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO DAMAGE. THE CHROME WORK HAS A GOOD APPEARANCE AND THE PAINT WORK ID VERY PRESENTABLE WITH NO BLISTERING OR BUBBLING. THE GLASS IS GOOD WITH NO CRACKS. THE INTERIOR IS VERY PRESENTABLE AND THE EXTRA SPACE CREATED BY THE LONG WHEEL BASE IS VERY EVIDENT IN THE REAR. THE WOOD TABLES AND DOOR CAPPING AND DASH ARE ALL IN GOOD SHAPE. THE CAR DOES HAVE AIR CONDITIONING AND POWER WINDOWS. THE EXHAUST IS FINE AND THE WHITE WALL TIRES ARE VIRTUALLY NEW. THE REAR WINDOWS WORK INTERMITANTLY AND SHOULD BE SERVICED. ALL THE OTHER INSTRUMENTS WORK CORRECTLY AND THE CAR PASSED IT'S PROVINCIAL MECHANICAL CERTIFICATION IN JUNE 2009 IN SUMMARY, THIS IS QUITE A RARE VEHICLE THERE BEING ONLY 57 BUILT. IT IS IN GOOD DRIVING CONDITION WITH FIRST TIME STARTING, GOOD TRANSMISSION ANS UPERIOR BRAKING. I WOULD BE GLAD TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS BY E-MAIL.
