Convenient set of taps and dies good quality for the price

The quality of this tap and die set leaves a lot to be desired. The parts are very rough, and all of the threads have burrs. Some of the dies were cut off center, and out of square. The taps would grind away more material than intended, leaving very rough threads. While a few of the parts may work for a small project, overall the quality is not sufficient for a project that matters. I just chalked this up to the adage that "cheap is expensive". I should have bought the quality tool that I needed in the first place. Now I have this low quality kit, and I still needed to buy the tap and die for my project.

it may be useful in wood , definetively cannot be used on brass , i dont even think about using this in steel. We now use it to get measures and buy good quality tools for our required needs, but this do not to make any threads as cannot do a single one. This type of product is what make chinese bad reputation as there are many good chinese stuff, even in china is poor quality. Sorry seller do not market this and make factory stop manufacturing this. -1 star

I hate to give anything a poor review, especially when I knew what I was buying, but these are really of such poor quality as to be practically non-functional. I thought the large variety of taps and dies would help me get through a short job. However, I found the steel is not sturdy enough to cut threads in good metal, and would probably break if you persisted in doing so. Also the accuracy of the threads is not good enough to match quality nuts or bolts. The bonus thread- gauge is not accurate either.

You definitely get what you think you would get for the price. I haven't used it much but from what I can tell most of the dies still have large burs from manufacture and the steel isn't of high quality. I think if you have light jobs for it and don't use it often it may be worth the price.
