The classic old school wheel trick on the chop above still rules today as more and more builders are rediscovering the Classic Honda and Yamaha Small Brake Drum Wheel.

Here's the age old Chopper builder's dilemma: You want that old school chop look but you don't know what wheel will get you the clean look of a spool and have real braking power to boot. Discs are too large and detract from the look of the front end. And the custom aftermarket mini brake wheels look cheap; have no real braking power and list for over $300.

Pictured above is an all aluminum hub, 70's Honda wheel available in 17-18-19 and 21-inch varieties typical of those used on Chops with Girder and Springer front ends in the early 70's. It’s a real sweet looking wheel, fits perfectly between the legs of a narrow Springer, stops a bike nicely and all brake parts are still widely available.
