This is a wonderful Suzuki Bandit 1200 in great shape. It runs terrific and has never had any problems. I have a clear title, not salvage. I'm starting the auction at one dollar and I'm just going to let the market decide what the bike is worth. There is no reserve and there are no problems with this bike. When the auction is over the winner will get the bike for whatever price it sells for. If you would like a test ride, contact me and I'll work it out. You will need to bring the buy it now price for the bike in cash and if you drop the bike you will have bought it for that price. I'm located near Fredericksburg, VA so if you can make the trip I look forward to seeing you. I do not have current plates or insurance so it will be up to you to make sure you are complying with the law on the test ride. I have ridden it recently (yesterday as a matter of fact). It has not been sitting idle. I hate to let the bike go; I'm going to miss it. In addition to the standard features of the Suzuki Bandit 1200, it comes with a set of 36 litter Givi bags (A $600 value with the mounting brackets). These bags come off and go back on in seconds and provide quite a bit of storage space. The 1200cc is engine is powerful and a real blessing on the highway with a passenger. It provides terrific acceleration. The bike will accelerate much faster than I'm really comfortable with and the top end is just way outside the range of people with any life expectancy. I will work out shipping to any destination at your expense of course. I'm also willing to work through an escrow service, like escrow.com if you would like the bike shipped. It will need to be picked up at my residence. We can discuss the details before you bid. (I've used HaulBikes.com and was very happy with their service, but you may choose any vendor you would like). After the auction you will have three days to pick up the bike. I expect payment in cash unless other arrangments have been made. I will not accept paypal for the full price of the bike, but you will need to place a $500.00 deposit on the bike at the end of the auction through paypal.
The bike is used and has normal wear and tear. I'll go through each defect here. Please contact me to come and see the bike if you wish. I will not negotiate after the auction is over. I am making an honest effort to disclose any issues you might have, so hopefully there is nothing that I've missed. I have included photos of everything that I describe below. You will not be disappointed.
1) There are some surface scratches on the handle behind the seat. These are from normal wear and tear attaching things to the bike with bungees and from a backpack a passenger used to wear. They are not completely through the paint and do not detract from the look of the bike.
2) The paint on the left side of the crank case is scratched. It stopped at a gas station and failed to get the kick stand all the way down before starting to jump off the bike. The bike toppled over to the left scratching both the crank case and the left handlebar, damaging the left blinker and clutch lever. I replaced the blinker and the clutch lever, but I never got around to repairing the paint here or on the end of the handlebar. The damage is completely cosmetic and could be repaired with a can of paint. I looked like an idiot, but didn't really hurt the bike.
3) The muffler is missing a bolt on the end. I'm sure the part costs a few cents, but I haven't bothered to replace it.
4) The end of the right handlebar is scratched. The previous owner said he did this bumping up against something in the garage. There is no other damage and it could be repaired with some fine grain sandpaper and a little paint. I just haven't bothered.
5) A small nick in the paint on the left handlebar from the incident I described above.
6) Scratches on the left side of the fairing from the incident I describe above. These scratches are not visible from a distance and they are not deep. I haven't concerned myself with fixing them since they don't detract from the look of the bike.
7) In the right light you can see some scratches on the windscreen if you look through it. I don't know what caused these, but they are not normally visible, you really have to look for them.
8) There is some rust on the muffler, the kick stand and some of the undercarriage. This is normal for a bike this age and doesn't detract from the look of the bike or affect function in any way.
The bike really does look good. This sounds like a lot because I've made an effort to detail everything. It isn't perfect, but it great for a used bike. None of the issues I mentioned have affected the bike negatively in anything except minor cosmetic damage. You will not be disappointed with the look or function of this bike.

On Nov-06-09 at 16:32:00 PST, seller added the following information: I have two updates to make that might be relevant for some bidders. The first has to do with the rear tire. The rear tire was punctured some time ago, but since it was new at the time of the puncture I didn't want to replace it. The guy at the shop suggested putting a tube in it instead of replacing the entire tire. So, although the rear tire is tubeless, it has a tube in it. This doesn't affect handling at all. I had completely forgotten about it. I thought some bidders might want to know this so I've included it here.
The second update has to do with two pin pricks in the paint on the tank. I think I must have just done this to the tank when I got gas. Maybe I bumped a key up to the tank. You really have to look for them. The damage doesn't seem to make it all the way through the paint. There are two spots, each smaller than the head of a pin. I hadn't noticed these. I tried to take pictures of them, but they are too small to show up in a photo. I'm only including the description here for full disclosure. I can't imagine this affecting the price of the bike in any way.
If for some reason you would like to alter your bid based on this new information, feel free to retract your bid at this time. Do not wait until the auction is over to try to negotiate a discount.
