This item is OK but is very small & it's supposed to stabilize a tap during the threading process...
This item is OK but is has a very small base area & it's supposed to stabilize a tap during the threading process, I will probably have to make a flat base plate out of steel or maybe aluminum and press this into it to give it a larger base area for better stabilization. I have some 1-1/4' x 1-1/4" aluminum bar stock that if I can machine a straight hole the right size in it and press this tool into the aluminum block, it would make the base large enough, then that would make this a useful and accurate tool for the purpose it was intended.This item is OK but is has a very small base area & it's supposed to stabilize a tap during the threading process, I will probably have to make a flat base plate out of steel or maybe aluminum and press this into it to give it a larger base area for better stabilization.
