Here is the timing belt, idler bearing and tensioner bearing assembly that you will want to replace on the following cars with '420A' DOHC engines (2GNT). (Please note that these are all non-tubo engines) I hope you are looking at this auction because you know that your engine, if it's listed below, is called an "interference" application. Sound bad? YUP, it can be terrible!
"The combustion chamber design of an interference engine is such that an open valve may be struck by a moving piston if timing synchronization is disrupted" === the preceding announcement came right out of the book and, loosely interpreted it sounds like BOOM . . . clatter . . . CLUNK ! How many miles do you have on your timing belt?:

You should read your owner's manual to verify the manufacturer's recommended change intervals. Know where you stand - - or you'll be standing on the shoulder of the road! And that can cost ALOT of hard earned CASH !
Per your request, this package is for one (1) new timing belt and one (1) new idler bearing and one (1) new tensioner bearing assembly, PLUS a new aftermarket replacement water pump for the 420A engines that were produced with the mechanical (spring) tensioner system and, I'm sorry but there is no way of telling what system you have on your engine until you "open-it-up" because our favorite engineers at Daimler-Chrysler used VERY little discretion in controlling engine codes or model years that they installed this system on. Now, ain't that HIGH-TECH ? But wait, here is the good news about this little twitch in their system. . . . . IF YOUR ENGINE has the hydraulic tensioner system, you can use this kit to replace ALL your timing parts and then you can tell the guy at the OE parts counter that $150 is just plain out-of-line for the hydraulic tensioner cylinder by itself ! I sold alot of those hydraulic cylinders for less than $80 over the last couple of years but now that Chrysler and Mitsubishi have "captured" that little gem (that means they won't let the OE manufacturer sell it to the aftermarket parts brands), it has somehow strangely doubled in value! I'll get off the soap-box now cuz I finally have the alternative solution, as promised ! =o) Belt tension with this item is consistent and may actually improve the life of the timing belt compared to the hydraulic tensioner system!
