2-year project rebuilding an FJ60 iron pig with the most miles I could find. Complete machine shop motor rebuilt including crank, camp, pistons and everything else ($3.1k) in 2008). Followed by buying everything available on Ebay and beyond to replace electronics (battery, alternator, voltage regualtor, distributor and more). I replaced all the rubber items, had the front seals rebuilt at Iron Pig and left the drive train alone. The radiator was recored and belts, hoses and other small parts were replaced. Every Saturday night I had a couple of beers, ordered a bunch of parts and wore the UPS guy out having them sent here. I used a JimC air pump pulley to clean up the engine compartment. The old style dim lighting was replaced with big headlights from Joe TLC Halogen lamps and I used Alezza lens (AUS) to dress up the rears. The underside is completely coated with POR_15. I used an AUS kit to fabricate fender well splash guards myself. I tore out the carpet and underlay, replacing them with aluminized soundproofing and a carpet kit. The hydraulic jack is original and a I bought a nice metric tool iron. The headliner and arm rests were dirty so I vinyl sprayed them. The chrome emblems had been stolen so I replaced. I built wooden drawers with top covers that hide a complete tool kit in the rear. I went over the body with primer and aplied vinyl 'camo' (you can see the body is straight and representative of its age).
