1960 Triumph Bonneville / T120 / Very Rare Motorcycle !
Vehicle Description

This auction is for a 1960 Triumph Bonneville. This is probably one of the most sought after Triumphs. The second year of the Bonneville this model was first to have alternator and open gauge area. Previous pre-units had the housing around headlight which held gauges and was a pain to remove for fork oil, etc. Was professionally painted in the early 90's using Don Hutchinson Triumph correct paint for 1960 T120. Gold pinstripping was done by professional pinstriper. Gas tank is rust free. This fine motorcycle has been sitting for years. Engine and transmission were rebuilt in 1989. Smith speedometer and tachometer were rebuilt in 1989 (Have receipt from Nisonger Corp. $127.00 in March of 1989) Only 45 miles on speedo since then. Many new items...all from England...no Taiwan parts on bike. Mufflers are very nice (old ones included for rechroming..no dents). Exhaust pipes fine..no dents. Rims need replaced. Included in sale are two brand new rims (correct sizes) and new Buchanan stainless steel spokes and nipples (over $100.00 per set now). The new rear rim has some minor pitting...very minor.  Numerous new parts, that were purchased as spares, are included. Two pre-unit 650 used mufflers included. Brand new British sidestand included...bike only has a center stand. Seat is new. Needs a battery. Magneto works. Bike will not be in running condition upon pick up. Engine turns free. Bike will have to be "gone over" before riding. Amal Monoblocs were replaced and have no wear. All inner monobloc parts are new. This bike is a restorer's dream. The engine and tranny mounting parts need repainting (I believe some acid got on them over the years messing up the black paint). New stainless steel tranny adjusters are available from Ace Classic Triumph in England. They have alot of quality newly made pre-unit items. Over $2,000 in various receipts from late 80's on numerous parts that were replaced. Many small bags of brand new parts such as magneto brushes, Barnett cable, fork rubbers, etc. (see pictures). Alot of these were purchased as spares. I did nothing to this bike since I purchased it in 2004. It has been covered in a heated building since then. I do restore Triumphs but have numerous unit construction 60's models that will keep me busy for quite some time. I also have a few Terriers and Tiger Cubs which I want to complete. I would be willing to take a very nice Terrier or Tiger Cub as part of sale. Also a BMW R25,26,or 27 could also be considered for partial payment. Please do not contact me for any other possible trade for any other motorcycle other than those mentioned. Rear Cheng Shin 400X18 is like new. Front 3.50X19 Avon Speedmaster is new as far as tread but is starting to get some age cracks and should be replaced. The only problem in finish is that someone used too much weld for the rear tab of oil tank (see photo). There also is a small chip in paint under seat on oil tank that cannot be seen unless seat is up. Bike is being sold as is. I have sold numerous motorcycles on ebay and out of 700 positive transactions have only had one negative a few month ago from a jerk in Cleveland over a fire extinguisher. The only reason I am parting with this Triumph is that it is not perfect and I have way too many other smaller cc Triumphs to finish  to make this one perfect. I would rather someone who loves this model fix the few items necessary to make it a 10...it's about an 8.5 now.

Please email me at FREASE120@AOL.com with any questions prior to bidding. I will post all proper questions and answers.

Motorcycle can be seen in Youngstown,OH midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Motorcycle can be delivered for 75 cents/mile up to 300 miles. If shipping is required I will crate motorcycle for $280. Buyer is responsible for all contacts to trucking/shipping service. Bike has to be picked up at this location. If I need to take it to a shipping service it will be at the delivery rate for mileage.

If you have 5 or less feedback you must contact me to bid...if not you will be blocked upon first bid. Anyone with less than 94% feedback must contact me or you will be blocked if you bid.

I take pride in my ebay transactions. Please feel free to email me with any concerns. I can forward specific other photos to those bidding if requested.

Good luck...reserve is less than N.A.D.A. Antique Motorcycle quote for this motorcycle so it will sell.

Here is a link for a 1960 Bonneville completely restored. You can see how the color scheme is exact. Only difference on mine is the rear shocks (which are available) and the missing remote Amal float chamber which is very hard to find. If I were restoring I would powder coat black every black part on bike. Hope this helps... http://triumphmotorcycles.typepad.com/photos/1960_triumph_t120_bonnevi/index.html
