What is the REAL benefit in purchasing a PROFESSIONALLY relined helmet?
The interior padding of this Buco Polycarbonate helmet has been professionally refurbished by replacing the head ring, top pad, and earpieces. The liners, as they were done from the factory, are sewn AND glued in. These are NOT a quick two dollar piece of foam fix like some other helmets sold on eBay. Yes, some original liners are in good shape, but foam dries over time. (These helmets are 30+ YEARS OLD!!) As a helmet is worn, the existing liner will wear faster than it did 30 years ago and will eventually need to be replaced. If you are looking for a comfortable helmet, both in appearance and in fit, this helmet is a must!
What is the difference between a vintage/new old stock helmet and a new reproduction helmet?
This helmet is 30+ years old - never worn and stored from that time to now. These "vintage" helmets are streamlined against the face in comparison to what is sold today. You will appreciate the fact that this helmet does not make you look like a bubble head, as do the new reproduction helmets! These are the MOST sought after helmets for chopper and bobber riders! As a helmet that was produced back thirty plus years ago, a large difference between the vintage and current production helmets is that the vintage helmet is not up to date with today's DOT Safety Standards. This helmet does not have a rating sticker.
