This is a 1973 Super Beetle originally from Texas. I bought it four years ago, the car has never seen salt or a Wisconsin winter, it has been stored every winter since I have owned it. The car has a 1600cc engine that was rebuilt approximately 12,000 miles ago. (Put the motor in the car last spring.) (The odometer reads 71,000, title shows "exempt.") The engine has a chrome kit and a new rebuilt carbeurator. It also has electronic ignition and a Bosch blue coil. The car has custom bubble windows that are no longer available and make this car unique. The car also has four wheel disc brakes. Everything on this car works, lights, radio, etc. (except the horn...haven't worked on that.) Originally, the car was orange, someone painted it white and it has some small chips in the paint that show the orange underneath. (It's not rust...it's orange paint, this car is solid.) There is one minor hole by the battery, this is common for these vehicles, especially being 30+ years old. The rear bumper has been taken off the car because I was going to put T-Bars on it. I have the bumper, its straight and solid, comes with the car. Also, there is a crack in the windshield that runs about 2" up from the bottom edge, doesn't impair the driver's view at all, doesn't leak, just haven't had time to replace it. This car is very solid and straight. There are minor dings, but nothing that can't be fixed easily. I was going to fix them with a friend who does body work, but we can't seem to find the time to work on it. The motor has an offset deck lid to help with cooling the engine if you're driving on a hot summer day. The headliner by the back window has two holes in it thanks to the heat. We took the car on an 80 mile ride the other day with no problems. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me. This car won't disappoint you, it's very solid. Happy Bidding! This car is also for sale locally, we reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.
