Here is a nicely refurbished 1965 walk-through camper bus w/pop-top. It has new paint inside and out, new interior and a rebuilt, dual carbureted motor.
Here are some of the details:
--ENGINE--Rebuilt 1600cc S/P with rebuilt crank and rods, new Cima-Mahle pistons and cylinders, new bearings, stock cam and lifters, rebuilt heads with new springs, valves and 3 angle valve job, dual Kadrons rebuilt by "ACE", header w/ heater boxes and a "tucked up" single quiet-pac, 009 distributor with new BOSCH points, cap, rotor, spark-plugs and wires, NEW BOSCH generator, regulator and battery, new Sachs clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing. Gas tank cleaned in and out with POR-15 products and painted, new fuel gage sending unit, new fuel lines, new throttle cable, new engine seal.
--TRANSMISSION--Fresh oil, new axle boots, new german mounts, new clutch cable, new shift rod bushings. It is quiet and shifts smooth, however, it pops out of 4th gear every now and then, so that will need to be addressed sooner or later.
--BRAKES--New master cylinder and brake switch, new soft lines, shoes, wheel cylinders and re-turned drums at all four corners. Rebuilt brake pedal assembly with new return spring.
--OTHER MECHANICAL--New shocks at all four corners, new tie-rods, new drag-link, new front wheel bearings, front end cleaned and greased. 15 inch bus rims up front with 205/75-15 tires. 15x8 inch rims with 225/70-15 tires in the rear. Speedometer works.
The electrical has been updated to 12v and everything works as it should.
--BODY--New inner and outer rockers on both sides (this bus is not a Bondo bucket), original pop-top section correctly grafted in, front floors repaired, new single stage paint (in and out). New window rubber, front door seals, deck-lid seal, rear hatch seal and pop-top seal from Wolfsburg West. New taillight assemblies. New seals on front lights and turn signals. Chrome VW emblem. Solid front and rear floors and it is solid underneath.
--INTERIOR--Reupholstered seats and bed in brown naugahyde with new seat-pads. New VW pedal pads. Un-cut dash (the stereo you see is just a faceplate held on with a magnet). Late model Westfalia camper kit with sink, stove and fridge. The fridge will run off either 110v or propane. Interior and door panels are sanded birch that have been coated with a waterproof satin clear-coat. Front kick panels are from Wolfsburg West. It needs a headliner and the canvas for the pop-top to be complete. I have a new interior surround and 4 new rubber latches for the pop-top from Wolfsburg West that will be included.
Overall, this is a clean, functional and presentable bus. I have it's clear title in hand.
All transportation costs are at buyer’s expense and buyer must make all arrangements.
